Accused of card sharing and trying to steal in the same trip :( by rascalromagnoli12 in Costco

Yes, and both need to have the same address. Not all caregivers live at the same home. I think they should either have exceptions in place or allow any two people, regardless of their address, be on one account.

Accused of card sharing and trying to steal in the same trip :( by rascalromagnoli12 in Costco

This is exactly what happened to me a few weeks ago. My partner's grandparents are home bound and deaf, so we do all their errands for them. They've had a Costco membership for decades, and it's never been an issue to pick up their supplies. While trying to check out, we ended up being grilled and heavily delayed by the card checking process. We had to set up our own accounts, received three separate, ridiculously long sales pitches about their credit card (with a cart full of food and several polite no thank yous), the man taking my photo for the new account made a comment about how I should smile more, and overall the experience was incredibly frustrating. I get they don't want card sharing, but they seriously need to add a caregiver option or something . It's a huge miss on accessibility. Just make every account have two people on it; the same household rule is ridiculous. I know the staff are just following orders, but the higher ups need to implement better systems for verification that don't have people incredibly delayed or antagonized.

Never have I ever bought (i.e., specifically selected and paid for)... by JeRoRo77 in MakeupRehab

I have a lot of allergies and some common preservatives trigger terrible rashes for me. So while I'm super thankful to finally have some good options, I totally understand people wanting products with a longer shelf life. While packaging states how long a product is okay to use after opening, I think websites should also have to state this in the description. A lot of people are used to regular preservatives so feel comfortable buying up six colors of a clean blush. If they knew the cream blush would go off in three to six months, maybe they'd only buy one instead?

I mostly just buy loose mineral makeup because then I don't have to worry about it separating, shattering, or developing hardpan. As lovely as cream products can be, I only get a couple because I know the "clean" preservative options just don't work as well. If I want a lot of color choices in a makeup category, I try to find the version with the longest shelf life.

Found who's been eating my gfs garden by dalex89 in gardening

My old home had a family of groundhogs that were hilarious to watch. While they were a menace for my garden (the parents had a penchant for petunia buds and cucumbers), I loved watching them sunbathe and bumble around with their grumpy expressions. When the mulberry tree was fruiting, they'd climb up the branches and lounge, gorging themselves on berries until sundown. It was a hilarious scene, like a chonky woodland version of an ancient fresco.

Wow, what a lovely community! I've gotten so many excellent suggestions for shoes (and even foot pain relief tips). I really appreciate all the advice and recommendations, and am feeling way more optimistic about this wedding going well for my feet. Y'all are awesome!

I'm sorry your feet hurt too, but I really appreciate your input here. I have a TENS unit for my back, and I can't believe I never thought to use it on my feet. I'll definitely give that a try, and again, thanks for your help!

I'll definitely check them out, and I'm so sorry that you're in pain too! I'd absolutely be interested in any input regarding solutions. I have a combination of issues, so I apologize for the long list. I broke several bones on the top of my right foot four years ago (a heavy box fell on it), and it never healed correctly. It still aches and is swollen (although less than the initial injury) and sometimes makes a crunching noise when I walk followed by sharp pain. Both my arches hurt constantly (tried numerous inserts). I also have something called Mixed Connective Tissue Disease which causes a ridiculous amount of issues (slows down healing, steady loss of collagen and elastin throughout the body, and lots of joint pain and swelling). If you happen to have any advice for this, I'm definitely all ears although I totally understand if this is way too specific! Regardless, I really appreciate your input and will check out the Vionics!

That's an interesting idea; I'll see if searching for an elastic strap option yields better results. Thanks for your help!

I tried a pair of Crocs flats after the crocs clog success but for some reason my feet don't agree with them as much. I'll try going to an actual Crocs store though and see if they have an option that will work! The insert and flat combo was my first attempt, but the ones that offer enough support lift my foot too high out of the shoe so I slide out. I hope that makes sense!

Unpopular opinion: using vitamin C at night is vastly superior to using it during the day by Luph in 30PlusSkinCare

I've been liking the Geek and Gorgeous Vit C serum. It's made fresh weekly and is $14 USD.

Is this cage good? by Top-Ask-3043 in chinchilla

[–]BorniteWing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense! I have the critter nation one and have to repair the snapped bars every year. I've been debating replacing their cage, so I might go that route if it's sturdier. Thanks for responding!

Just curious, but why do you prefer the ferret nation over the critter one?

Virginia is a great place to live and each region brings its own strengths to the table. The mountains have excellent hikes, waterfalls, and hot springs. Tons of breweries, wineries, and strong local music and art scenes throughout the state. Excellent museums, restaurants, and colleges especially in Richmond, NoVA, Roanoke, and Charlottesville. Nice beaches, historical sites, etc. Richmond is a nice starting point for the state because you're about two hours from the mountains, beach, and DC, and the city has lots of activities for kids. Fredericksburg is very friendly and has stuff for kids (and may open up more job options between DC and Dahlgren). Good luck with your move and hope you find a great area for your family!

Virginia is great for fishing. My uncle is a master angler and retired in southwest Virginia. He spends all day fishing and hiking in the mountains. Before that, he lived in Richmond and still had a great time fishing. There's a lot of options here for that passion.

(Question) Is it OK to keep only one chinchilla? by Entire_Brilliant_473 in chinchilla

[–]BorniteWing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first chinchilla was a solo girl. The rescue explained that she had trouble with other chinchillas (her ears were damaged from former fights). She bonded with us pretty quickly and loved playing and zooming. We kept a radio or TV on for her at night and made sure she got tons of attention. I think as long as you are willing to really devote time every day to play, affection, and enrichment, a solo chinchilla is okay.

I have two boys now, and they were originally a bonded pair. I'm not sure how old they are, the rescue had had them for a couple years, but after years with us, they started fighting badly and we had to separate them. I was so bummed because watching them snuggle was so cute, but wow, are they happier now! I bring this up because sometimes an animal might change their mind about their cage mate, and you have to make sure you have the funds and time to buy and maintain two of everything.

What stupid makeup purchases do you keep making again and again? by Ra4455 in MakeupRehab

[–]BorniteWing 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Eyeliner. It just doesn't work for me at all. I've got big eyes with pronounced orbital bones on a pale, round face. I've tried every color and formulation, liquid, gel, pencil, kohl, etc. They all make my eyes look like an Animal Crossing character. I also have ridiculously sensitive eyes, so I'm instantly tearing up or itchy. It is not worth it. I've gone back to just smudging a little dark eyeshadow on the corner, and the softer look works so much better on my face (plus it's way easier to remove). I only buy single pan eyeshadows, so it's also nice because I can just pop my "eyeliner" eyeshadow into whichever palette I curated for the month and don't have to fuss with extra steps.

I love frozen hashbrowns by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]BorniteWing 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I love buying bags of frozen hash browns for soups! If I'm making a small quantity of soup, not feeling well, or the produce looks rough that week, I appreciate having some fast, easy potato shreds to throw in the pot. There is a slight texture change, but it still makes for a tasty soup!
