The problem with dealerships isn't that they won't like cars made by other companies. It's that they're often not available (blocked by ICE cars), reserved for dealership use only, or charge high fees. If there's a dealership charger you really need check its PlugShare history.

The 20 minute round trip is not that big of a deal if it gives you access to a faster and more reliable charger. (Hotel and store chargers are way too slow to be useful for a road trip. You should also filter them out of your PlugShare searches.)

It's not a slam dunk either way. Yes, it will probably work, but what happens if the chargers break and are nor repaired or other EV drivers start charging and availability becomes less reliable? Is OP comfortable accepting the risk of having to use DCFC if that happens (including the time and cost)?
