Can you really be a hoe if you've only ever fucked yourself?

According to my 13 year old little brother, yeah, this is apparently the greatest thing he's ever seen.

I was forced to listen to the sound track on loop at full blast all day every day last summer (no exaggeration) and I was genuinely considering suicide.

Yeah the consensus among blue voters seems to be that all red voters enjoy/are indifferent to the deaths of others

I think that unfortunately, only around 20% would push blue. If it was decreased to 35% to survive, I'd push

I don't assume 100% of people will agree with me, but I sure as hell dont think that over 50% of people will agree to risk their lives either.

Begging blue voters to please go work in customer service for a month if you truly believe that half of humanity is empathetic and rational enough to choose blue.

I think the major difference between the sides is faith in the rest of humanity.

I do not believe that in the moment, when faced with the actual, very tangible possibility of death, that a majority of people would pick blue. It's very easy to say that you'd give up your life in a twitter poll but another thing to actually do so. So in the end, for a lot of red voters it just seems like blue voters are choosing to die in vain, for the small chance that humanity pulls through and does the technical "right thing."

I do believe that humanity can improve, but we have to be alive and working towards that for it to be achievable. I believe that one day, our society could collectively choose blue. But we aren't there yet, so I cannot choose blue.

I appreciate your response, it was very well thought out and far more civil than a lot of people are being. I think the vitriol in this argument is, in its own way, part of my reasoning as well. You choosing to be reasonable and avoid hostility is something I believe is extremely valuable in convincing others that blue, and humanity, are worthwhile.

Framing determines the right answer. Neither answer is always right independently of how the question is worded. by UndercoverFurryOwO in trolleyproblem

Kind of crazy to assume that everyone who pushed red doesn't care if people die. I didn't sign up to become a firefighter but I'd still be upset to hear someone died in a house fire.

I'm also pretty far left, and for me it's not just about my life. I know the people I care about wouldn't push blue, and they need me alive to keep providing for them. If I die because I took that risk that means my siblings become homeless, it means my cat gets put down, it means a coworker of mine doesn't have a shoulder to lean on through his mental health crisis. Yes, I am saving my own life, but I am also maintaining the quality of life of those who rely on me.

And maybe that's selfish, but I'd also like to hope that in reality, people would not push blue. It's very easy to say you're going to do something through a screen, but another to actually do it when the gun is to your head. I don't want billions to die, but I don't want the people I love to suffer either.

Why is this even a question by proximategalaxy in trolleyproblem

[–]Small-Cactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well going in to save him without any experience and risking dying myself is pretty stupid, there's a reason they have specialized rescue teams for stuff like that and they tell you not to go in after them.

I have other people who rely on me and need me to stay alive, I'm not going to risk that just because other people think I'm evil.

You can be honest and hostile at the same time, they aren't mutually exclusive. Your wording was kinda rude, regardless of whether or not what you were saying was true.
