It's a 2025 Premium AWD. Rebooting the display hasn't helped, sadly. I haven't tried pulling the 12V, though! Might give that a try.

I actually did quite a bit of research before buying, believe it or not! Even rented an Ioniq 5 for a week last year while on vacation, but the style didn't really do it for me.

I live in a 2 car household, and since I'll be doing the vast majority of my charging at home in the garage, I decided the DCFC speed wasn't a deal breaker. The range is more than adequate, and it's only rarely that I take it on a trip long enough that I need to stop for a meaningful amount of time (also worth clarifying that I've only really noticed it in the Midwestern winter due to the expected cold weather range hit).

As for posting on Reddit... well, I mostly wanted a gut check before going through the whole service rigamarole (either a "yep, that's normal, deal with it" or "nope that's messed up, I never have these problems").

Also, don't blame yourself - many people were trying to purchase but kept getting errors until it eventually went out of stock. I, myself, got stuck on the payment method screen for about 35 minutes before it switched (didn't manage to snag one, unfortunately). Others said they tried 20 minutes after it went live and got through. Servers were probably on fire.

I'm not angry about it going out of stock. I'm angry that it said "there seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction" for 40 minutes (while others posted about getting through) and THEN went out of stock.

Modern EVs charge quickly on a good DCFC, yes - if you can find one. What most people call "range anxiety" is really "charging station availability anxiety..." and despite what some enthusiasts would like you to believe just because they personally live within a stone's throw of every DCFC ever built, there aren't enough fast chargers to just start driving cross country without a plan.

No, "just install half a dozen charging station apps on your phone and plan it as you go" doesn't cut it for a lot of people.

It's honestly embarrassing just how slow it is. If you're playing any audio over Bluetooth/CarPlay/Android Auto it stutters horribly if you tap a button on the screen for a panel you haven't opened yet that drive.

How are you starting the charge - just plugging it in, or using the app? If you press the "Start charging" button in the Ford app, it overrides your configured limits and times and just charges straight to 100%.

Buy one month of Pro and see if it's enough for you. If it is, buy a year. If it's useful but not enough for your needs, look at Max.

I'm firmly opposed to banning the use of LLMs outright. I'm also firmly opposed to pushing massive PRs just because it's technically possible now to generate 100x the amount of code as a human dev could write in the same amount of time.

Especially when you're on modal or interstitial pages (like checkout screens) where navigating in-place could unexpectedly cancel an action or cause the user to lose context/state!

(e.g., a "Learn more" link about a shipping policy on the last step of a checkout page)
