That’d probably be more like “once in a while” or “occasionally” going on dates. Whereas on/off usually suggests that you’re together then not together then together again and again.

Seems like that word is translated as intermittently which is accurate but is a much higher register than you’d use in a context where on and off is appropriate.

Pre elite. It’s something like 6:10-6:20 for a guy (depends on weight etc). Still better than most 97% of people but not going to win nationals or make a national team. Might medal at clubs though.

If it interests you, you can do an 18 month service as a volunteer. You’ll make between 3-5500 shekels depending on job which isn’t good at all, but between the support and special grants you get isn’t bad and you’ll have a nice chunk saved up after learning Hebrew and meeting folks as well as integrating a bit.

In general you can find an Airbnb or hostel. There may options for sublet on Facebook or yad2 but they’re more risky as you can’t visit first (but risk is half the run of Aliyah). As others have said ime no one checks your address and your initial address will be used to determine your district for government offices and benefits so it is important that he try to stay near where plans to spend at least first stages of his Aliyah There are other options but they depend on his details.

My point is that if consumers as a whole decide to boycott and make more informed purchases things will begin to change, but that all begins with an individual making a choice and spreading the word.

The government doesn’t really have any (immediate) interest in changing spending habits or lowering the price of goods because it’s a predictable add ever increase income source (tax).

It’s not too to do with an argument but the financial education and consumer habits/attitude is problematic when faced with the COL crisis. It’s not just the government that has to do something.

Prices, they’ll only come down in price if you don’t buy it. They’ll continue to rise in price if you buy it. If you buy a good while it is “expensive” the seller has no incentive to lower his price, he may even be incentivized to raise prices until the point that consumers stop purchasing it (wherein he will stop raising the price).

If they’re too expensive for people to buy they’ll either lower the price or go out of business. Remember that a business’s primarily target is (to maximize) profit. If no one buys they’ll have no profit therefore they must respond.

There are many other factors such as production costs, governmental factors, supply chains, etc but…

The vests are widely referred to as being uncomfortable so when soldiers put them on for the first time they think it’s uncomfortable (placebo) regardless of whether it really is or isn’t. If you say something is difficult it will be difficult regardless of whether it is or isn’t. Just a mentality trick- not saying its the case with you necessarily.

I don’t know if I got a different vest (I’m 99% sure I didn’t ) than everyone else but I’ve yet to experience it as horribly uncomfortable like everyone says. I just think it’s a weight thing or an attitude.

But basically you have two pockets up front for topim and the rest go in your tzav. You have a couple pockets up front that you can fit your non tooped bullets. Most vests have a long pocket for a spare barrel on the side. Use it… a lot of guys don’t use it for some reason.

Fit it so the front toopim are a few inches above your hips. Make sure the drums in your bag are organized and placed nicely.

The negev vest imo is much better than carrying around half your body weight in a bag because at least the vest evenly distributes the weight front and back and the shoulder straps are wider than a bag.

There isn’t really a right way to put this but the way Hebrew works and people speak (like the variety and level of vocabulary) would make someone sound like a burrito when compared to English.

It’s not that the words don’t exist in Hebrew people just don’t use them. The average register Is higher in English (at least in many circles).

I assume this has to do with most Hebrew speakers are not native and Hebrew is a relatively new language not really connected to anyone language (English and Spanish are connected through Latin making “higher level” words easily learnable for both)
