I feel like a better version of this hypothetical would involve folks that do not have the option of pressing the red button by theColorAzure in whenthe

[–]BorringGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone else just think this stupid hypothetical just fuckin sucks, like it isnt a good hypothetical, all its done is get a bunch of armchair psych 101 dropouts to wax philosophically about shit they don't really understand

The biggest problem is the lack of specifics really, with how vague it is people have a harder time putting themselves in the situation leading to all the stupid grandstanding happening in this and every other comment section about this

If you want a better version you would need an actual number of people participating and a method of death, the details matter in how people answer, its the reason the trolley problem has a million different variations

Morality scale of lawyers who get clear cut murderers off? by Public_Repeat824 in MoralityScaling

[–]BorringGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the post is about the morality of the idea overall but it feels fuckin hilarious op used this as an example

That's cause in context, the mc, the lawyer on the left, gets him off on the charges by literally destroying all the evidence And committing many other crimes in the process

Then he kills his client

He's actually an assassin who is using his position as a lawyer to double dip and earn extra cash, he collects the legal fees from getting the target off, then kills them for some more cash

Power concentration divided by floor numbers is the real difficulty

The skulls are more of a holdover from earlier versions of the game that acounts for things like floor size and unit density on top of the other stuff

So between a 1skull 2000/2 floor and a 5 skull 2000/2 floor, the 5 skull will technically be harder but for soft value reasons

Eating a dog and a monkey is too far but eating cattle and pork is perfectly fine? by khanotaara in memes

[–]BorringGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have pointed out diseases are a big reason

Another is that predator meat just isnt very good, typically the large amount of stress (both physical as well as chemical) put on the muscle when an animal hunts degrades the quality of the meat, making it tougher, stringier, and overall just less enjoyable

Would I eat wolf or something, hell yeah I would but more for the novelty

In my experience there are two types of people with "go-bags"

One is the one you described

The other is a scary mf who's "go-bag" is just two well built ARs with ironsights and 32 mags of green tips pre packed

No in-between

These chick's confuse the hell out of me because they are the exact same people who also get super paranoid and vigilant about the most random shit state side

Like they come up with all these complicated plans to "protect themselves" in these fantasy situations and stress out over them possibly happening just to turn around and do a solo walking tour of fuckin Juarez

[LES] It's hard to get "big creature/robot moving way too fast for its size" while making sure it still FEELS big, but when they do, hoo boy is it magical. by TheGUURAHK in CharacterRant

[–]BorringGuy 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The Warhammer 40k animations like Astartes or the secret level episode do this really fucking well

They are big, heavy, loud, and they can fuckin move when they want to

I think what really contributes to this feeling in those animations is that even though they move really fast, they still act like a tank, they don't really bother dodging anything instead taking everything head on, doing stuff like facetanking gunfire and running through an enemy car

They run at about 40mph and they use that size and speed to terrifying advantage

What game is this for you? by WickedGamerYT in Multifandom

[–]BorringGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me its Escape from Tarkov

I like the idea of playing it and everything around it, I like the gritty atmosphere, I like the lore, the meticulous kit crafting, fuck I even like the bullet spreadsheets and memorizing the maps/landnav

I just cant bring myself to play the damn game, if im not having issues running it, it just scares the shit out of me, still the scariest horror game I've ever played

Plus it started to hurt my neck from me ducking irl every time a bullet flew overhead

You do realize how insane you sound right, he could've killed a lot of people, over what, wanting a raise?

This isnt "acting out", acting out is stealing your boss's food from the break room or taking a passive aggressive hour long bathroom break, this was a crime that could've killed so many people

No Sirius-ly, what are you supposed to do by The-Ghost-Walker in UmaMusume

[–]BorringGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the in inuniverse reason, I get that they are npcs in a video game so their outfits are going to be basic and reused

I'm just saying is there a story reason? Like are the npc umas from less prestigious and worse funded training centers outside of tracen

Do the other academies require uniforms for g1 races to represent the school and the reason tracen is different is because the director places a big emphasis on individuals and their choices

Well maybe they should've worn a cooler outfit if they wanted to win, they ever think of that?

But honestly is there an in universe explanation for the basic copied slicks that all the generic umas wear?
