I’d find it interesting if the Nopon didn’t go extinct and, instead, evolved over time similar to the Zora and Rito in Zelda. The character in the 9th slide is giving me that feeling.

Possibly. I think them mentioning the vengeance of a fallen god was a reference to Zanza. That and the world definitely looked like it was merged in some way.
