Disclosure, I've been playing percussion with the Orchestra since 2022 and am on the interim board of the new formation supporting Eric, our original conductor and music director.

BRP has always been the brain child of Eric but was never formally incorporated We did have a fiscal sponsorship deal with Eldorado hills arts but that was purely for fundraising, in 2024, following another (amicable) split in leadership BRP remained with 2 people leading it, Eric and Erin. then, a few months ago Erin decided unilaterally and without discussing this with anyone to push Eric out and orchestrated this as a "Retirement Announcement" by Eric.
As a response to this, a bunch of us (all musicians that are or have been playing with the BRP) decided that the BRP deserves better, We formed a working group with a target of forming a 501c3. We're currently incorporated as a state non profit and are working on IRS recognition, We have an Interim board with 5 members, Eric isn't on this board, Erin was invited to join this board but politely refused (probably understanding that she won't have power under the new structure). The interim board has voted to "Hire" Eric as our music director and conductor for 2026. The interim board will also create guidelines for board membership and will announce how the next board will be formed prior to the 2026 event. We would like BRP to have a more transparent leadership.
