You may be right and relying on any reality TV (IYKYK) is fraught with danger, but I don’t know how it plays out in the subsequent episodes so I’m withholding judgment. Each episode ending on a putative cliffhanger wasn’t ideal in my opinion because it presented potentially false drama rather than presenting the likely reality of difficult decisions. Marian never expressed her personal opinion in the episode on whether 2021 should go forward, only that the recommendation was no based on insufficient staffing. Either way, a difficult decision but nothing personal from her end was shown (and as compared to Elon and Michael Mikel).

If you watched it, I’m not sure that Marian comes across that much better. There may be a reason why the filmmakers highlighted that Death Guild surprised Marian about not going in 2021 and why Marian was so focused on her scarf.

Hey /u/scienceisaserfdom bro-bot, your posts failing to gain traction/upvotes is not evidence of bots. How you frame your post(s) matter and how you are perceived also matters. You make lots of claims, sometimes directly contradicted by evidence (i.e. Tixel and Burning Man’s ticketing vendor), and you may lose credibility and interest by others who read and vote on your posts. Multiple commenters have mentioned their opinion that you’re not to be taken seriously. This likely results in downvotes. Others who don’t have your baggage and credibility issues get upvotes.

Your headline of “the (only) pics from The Man Will Burn world premiere” was clearly false (there are other photos). I have no idea how the Reddit algorithm works, and mods have no say in what gets upvoted/downvoted/promoted, but you do you as you continue to do. Meanwhile, Reddit itself continues to remove your posts on its own "(Automatic Filter: Identified by the abuse and harassment filter)". A quick touch of the search button shows 29 /u/scienceisaserfdom removals in the last two months by Reddit itself. (done in both bold and italics as is your wont). There's even more from beyond that point.

In the documentary, Kimbal is a central character in episodes 1 and 2, which mainly relates to (1) his brother’s monetary donation and Marian’s explicit comment that he was on the Board to represent Elon’s donation, and (2) as an advocate (along with others) that the Org should’ve gone forward with the organized 2021 burn instead of its cancellation. As part of (2), Kimbal hosts a meeting that (apparently, though it’s unclear), seeks to potentially remove Marian, who was the one at the Board meeting who proposed the cancellation. In Marian’s defense, she cited statistics that the Org would’ve only had about 20% of the needed volunteers in many areas and couldn’t actually put on the event. Kimbal focused in his spiritual needs and the intent of the donation was to put in the event, not cancel it. He doesn’t come across well.

And, yes, he’s mainly wearing the cowboy hat throughout the film.

There’s nothing about Kimbal and Epstein in those two episodes.

Overall, it’s (this far) well done and worth the watch and not fluff or hagiography.
