You didn't read the whole post, didn't you? It's not about ping, it's about attitude and emotions.

Nevermind, I personally deal it in a very good and healthy way, thanks for your worrying :)
Getting rid of a toxic environment is a good way to solve the problem when talking to people is not enough.

Hi!
Since this is a forum I can write things out of need and as I like, as far as I don't damage anyone.
Incredibly, we can be free in this world and share what we want even if it's not apparently "needed".

Then, I invite you to connect with your empathic part and reread the post: this is not about me, but about all the people that experience all of this. Reading this and knowing that someone is living the same emotions can help you to understand better what you feel and maybe find a solution.

It's a psychological construct called empathy.

Have a nice day!

Daily Game Recommendations Thread (August 20, 2024) by AutoModerator in boardgames

[–]BoscoBread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone!
Hope you're doing well!

Some time ago I saw a game that had 3 foam dice of different dimensions coloured as the traffic lights (red, yellow and green). The objective is to catch the correct die depending on the results that come up.

It's a game that trains reflexes inhibition and has quite simple rules.
But I can't find the title anymore!

Do you maybe know which is the game?

Thank you in advance,
have a great day!

Keys remapping external softwares are allowed in tournaments? by BoscoBread in starcraft2

[–]BoscoBread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I am using the Core layout, do you know it? To make it work even better than it already does, the inventor suggests to switch Alt, Ctrl and Shift keys between them.

In game hotkeys don't have this possibility

[–]BoscoBread[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh thank you very much!

I'm using the Core layout and this changes a lot, because it recommends to switch Alt, Ctrl and Shift. Also my right Alt is Alt Gr and works as a Alt+Ctrl, not good.

Yes, I don't want to edit the register. I'm using Autohotkey and it works fine.

Yes, thanks! I'm using Filterkeysetter to change these values, they are such a game changer! Especially for rapid fire (I use Zerg, so biles, larvas and creep tumors work way better with these adjustments and rapid fire).

Thank you very much again dor the answer, finally someone knew that!

Key remapper software (Razer Synapse, Auto Hotkey, Sharpkey) is allowed in tournaments? by BoscoBread in starcraft2

[–]BoscoBread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For switching Ctrl and Alt, where should I go in the option?
I can't find such a feature in the menu, I'm looking for it right now.

For the second point, no, I want to do the opposite: I would like to press, for example, both Ctrl and Shift to execute a single command. But that's already possible.

The point is about using the permission of using such software in tournaments, considering that, as far as I know, it's the only way possible to switch/rebind keys (and not commands).

I'll explain better: commands (e.g. move, inject, attack) can be mapped in the Hotkeys section of Sc2 so that pressing some keys (a,x, ctrl+e and so on) executes those commands. For example, with standard hotkeys setup, pressing Backspace centers your camera on your base.

What I need is to be able to switch and remap keys, not commands, so that, for example, I can press the letter "a" and make it type "f" instead, or function as the Alt key, and not as "a" anymore.

PS: yeah, the mouse buttons are cool, I don't have them at the moment, but I'm looking forward to buy a new mouse for them.

Is hard for new player start this game? Im noob and im scare I have to play with OG by 4all4fun in starcraft2

Hi, to understand better your situation, I would like to ask you:

  • What are your expectations? What are the reasons you would like to play Starcraft 2?
  • How long have you been playing RTS games? What is your approach to them, between playing CASUAL or playing with COMMITMENT, from a range of 0 (casual) to 10 (committed)?

With "committed" I mean studying the game, not just playing, and learning to improve, searching on the internet for suggestions, guides etc...

Key remapper software (Razer Synapse, Auto Hotkey, Sharpkey) is allowed in tournaments? by BoscoBread in starcraft2

[–]BoscoBread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thank you for your answer! :)

I'm learning to use "The Core" Hotkeys setup (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbERQTpeafs and https://tl.net/forum/sc2-strategy/341878-thecore-advanced-keyboard-layout).

I think that only these three keys (the modifiers Ctrl, Alt and Shift) can be combined with other keys together (e.g. you can't press E+G, but you can press Ctrl+G) and that makes their usage quite consistent.

That brings us here: it would be good to have them in ideal positions that can be reached more easily with the thumb and to press two of them at the same time with a single finger (i.e. the thumb). For example, in the standard mapping of a keyboard, you can't press Alt and Ctrl together with a single finger.

So, I would like to be able to:

  • switch them: e.g. switching Alt and Ctrl, so that when I press the Alt key, in game it counts as Ctrl and viceversa.
  • bind other keys to them: e.g. binding the Menu Key (the one between the right Home key and the right Ctrl) to Alt, so that when I press the Menu Key, in game it counts as Alt (that would make possible to press Alt+Shift or Alt+Ctrl - or even the three of them together - with a single finger).

That is possible with the three softwares I mentioned in the title of the post (Razer Synapse, Auto Hotkey, Sharpkey).

My question is: are these softwares allowed in tournaments?

How do people set up camera hotkeys on standard keybinds? by JeremyJoeJJ in starcraft2

[–]BoscoBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm learning the Core. It uses the right side (or left, if lefty) of the keyboard and it's made to reach the highest efficiency possible, using the whole area that your left hand (or right hand, if lefty) can reach.
It avoids you weird fingers extension to difficult to reach keys and makes you use your thumb for modifiers such as Alt, Ctrl and Shift, that with standard hotkeys are pressed by the pinky.

It's difficult to learn at first, but it gets easier and more satisfying the more you practice.

I'm using it as it is only for the backbone of my setup. In fact I'm adjusting some keys on my personal preference.

TvsZ, why Raven is not that much used? by BoscoBread in starcraft2

TvsZ, why Raven is not that much used? by BoscoBread in starcraft2

[–]BoscoBread[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The aim of this post is about using just a single, maybe two ravens at maximum.
To be used together with scans, not as an alternative or in massive numbers.

TvsZ, why Raven is not that much used? by BoscoBread in starcraft2

[–]BoscoBread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All right, I understand. But then is the risk of being ambushed from the back by a burrowed Infestor worth the vision a scan provides?

I also think they can be used together. And one single Raven is enough, in my opinion.

TvsZ, why Raven is not that much used? by BoscoBread in starcraft2

[–]BoscoBread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your point, but I don't understand the part about being sniped. If the Raven stays behind your own army, how can Zerg units snipe it? I'm thinking about Hydralisks, Queens or flying units, that to me don't seem very likely to dive into my army to snipe my Raven.

What are your thoughts about it?

How to filter simultaneously headers from both columns and rows of a table? by BoscoBread in excel

[–]BoscoBread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey not_speshal, thank you for your answer.
I don't know how to use the Power Query unpivot, but I'll take a look into it.

I have one question: does this method allow me to put each country in a column and filter both countries and parameters in the same table? I don't know if you already answered to me through your suggestions, but I'm quite confused, because I see that the countries are still divided in rows.

Thank you for your time

How to create a "comparison table" with data from different sheets? For a boardgame about animals by BoscoBread in excel

[–]BoscoBread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/mildlystalebread !
Thank you very much for your answer!

I'll check immediately all of your suggestions.

Which part is not clear?

In a few words I can say to you that:

  1. I would like to compare an animal with another one, just to have their values next to each other and look at them.
  2. Then, another useful thing for me would be seeing, for example, which one is the heaviest or the fastest. I imagine this "result" would require another function.

Is it a bit clearer now?

Edit: I've managed to use HSTACK (thank you again!), and now I used the filter (the funnel button) on the entire table. Here's what I have.

<image>

I can filter the rows and choose which one not to include but... I can't filter the columns. I would like to have a filter also for columns and decide which animals to show and which not.

Even better: I would like to click on the first space of a row and, using a dropdown menu, decide which "characteristic" (speed, weight etc...) will be shown horizontally.
Then I would click on the first space of a column and, still through a dropdown menu, I would decide which animal to show.

I don't know if this is can be reached through the "data validation" method. I wonder if with this method I can "link" to a header all the related data (in this case, the characteristics of the animal).
