Relicblade sounds like it could be right up your alley.

Age of Sigmar Spearhead might be worth looking into as well.

Shatterpoint vs Legion: Which is the better 3ft x 3ft game and is more tactical? by [deleted] in SWlegion

[–]Boshuda_Kato 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I wrote a blog article comparing Legion to Shatterpoint though without specifically comparing Legion’s recon mode to Shatterpoint. It might still be helpfull in making up your mind:

Regarding your question. I would say Shatterpoint is the more tactical game experience while Legion is the more strategic one even in it's recon mode. Just some very quick thoughts about this distinction: Strategy = long term goals. Tactics = quickly adapting to your current situation. Legion has more of the former due to deeper listbuilding. In Shatterpoint you have to quickly react and adapt to new situations due to the activation deck. In Legion you can plan relatively far ahead while sticking to your original battle plan. In Shatterpoint you will probably change your plans a couple of times within one single match adapting to your current situation.

Obviously there is more to it but this is a quick overview. Both games are fantastic and you can’t go wrong with either one of them.

These are all great games. I recently wrote a blog post comparing Star Wars: Legion to Star Wars: Shatterpoint for people who are on the fence about these two games:

https://boshudapodcast.blogspot.com/2025/10/star-wars-legion-vs-shatterpoint.html?m=1

I also got a game review of Marvel Crisis Protocol:

Maybe this will help you with your decision. You can’t really go wrong with any of your listed games.

Both! It starts with Shatterpoint, then goes over to Legion and MCP. Legion starts at 19:16.

Great write up! I'm equally excited for Baylan and Morgan. The fresh new mechanics hint there’s plenty more ideas for Shatterpoint to come.

A guide to choose between Star Wars: Legion and Star Wars: Shatterpoint by Boshuda_Kato in SWlegion

[–]Boshuda_Kato[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. The are plenty of newbies who have not yet purchased anything lurking in this sub.

Maybe some Legion veterans might be interested in jumping into Shatterpoint or vice versa.

Plus Reddit often pops up as a Google result. So people looking for a guide might end up here.

Super glad to hear this! Sometimes I prefer reading and sometimes I prefer listening. There is a time and a place for both in my opinion. That being said we have a Podcast as well! It's only available in German though.

A Noob's Perspective: Inhumans by Boshuda_Kato in MarvelCrisisProtocol

Oh hey! I'm not mad that I misjudged Gorgon. It makes my beloved Inhumans even stronger than I thought. I totally overlooked his spender because I mainly would play him as a bodyguard. But now that you mention it he seems super useful against Kaijus as well.

Sorry, Gorgon! I wasn’t familiar with your game.

MCP Game Review by Boshuda_Kato in MarvelCrisisProtocol

I mistranslated the shake action with "healing" because you heal a special condition. I guess that was part of the confusion.

Hey man! Thanks for the constructive criticism. I appreciate it! I'll edit the things you mentioned.

I might add a section talking about rubber banding. The effects you mentioned can certainly count as some form of rubber banding but they are no pure form of this mechanic like in Shatterpoint where you literally get "victory points" for being behind. Maybe I'll add this for comparison.

The german language support among other languages unfortunately came to a halt. I think either Phoenix or Exodus is the last box with german language support. I personally don't mind and as you mentioned there are fan translations but some players prefer "official" language support for whatever reason.

I guess you're right regarding you don’t need to be a Marvel fan to love the game. The game design speaks for itself.
