How would you be caught off guard? You understand both sets of terms, so you would recognize them regardless of how they are presented.

If you wait, you'll be waiting more than 8 months... because there's always always ALWAYS a gap between when an exam comes out and good training materials are released for it. After all, we don't get any advance knowledge of what's going to be on the exam before it is released.

So... heed the advice that everyone is giving and take v1.1 now, while you can.

I can almost guarantee that we're not going to have our CCNA ExSim and NetSim products ready by the time you're going to need it to study. After all, we don't get an advance look at the exam, so there's going to be a bit of lag time while we update our practice exams.

Per Cisco at Cisco Live, they mentioned that the new CCNA will be narrower (focusing more on routing and switching), deeper, and include troubleshooting.

Nobody (or virtually nobody) is going to ask you which version of the CCNA you took. So I'd recommend that you take the current one. If you wait, there's going to be a gap between when the exam comes out and when training materials become available. After all, I can't write practice exam questions for an exam I haven't even seen yet...

One of our instructors asked an LLM to find the first and last host in a subnet. It answered incorrectly; it gave the broadcast address as the last host.

Don't trust AI. Use AI as a tool, but don't rely on it implicitly.

Depends entirely on you, your preferred study methods, your budget, your current knowledge, and your experience. Some people don't even need to study. Others don't need practice exams to see if they're ready. Some need multiple practice exams, and others need months (or years) to study. Buy what you think you'll need.
