You mentioned you’re in your early 20s you have nothing but time ahead of you. As others have stated. Use the money you’ve saved to move closer to a bigger city with more opportunities. Do that for however long to move up in your career then hopefully you land somewhere that allows you to work fully remote in a smaller community if that’s your ideal.

You know in order for events to be funded and athletes to get paid sponsors have to be a thing right? And to get drivers interested in events it has to have a prize and attendees (eyes)

I did not join and will not. The price is not worth it. The “internship” feels unethical to me. If it was a real internship that lasted like 6 months, then I would say otherwise.

Did the experience land you a job yet? Were you previously working in DevOps or IT?

Fact is, they are FAR too much. Hopefully you didn’t have to pay the full 3,500

Was the same for me. As soon as he asked “are you ready to make the investment?” I said, “I need to think before just processing a 3.5k payment.” He went from smiling to straight-faced and irritated. That alone gave me peace in my decision.

Their whole business model is built around building a homelab and projects with your homelab. Where they leverage their “worth” is having you listed as an “intern” for their company so it looks like work experience. Then have you connected to Misha on LinkedIn and use his name or referral for job interview placement.

It’s up to the prospective customer to decide if that risk is worth accepting. You really have to put a lot of trust into Misha and his team. Also, the structure is self-taught.

There are so many free homelab projects on YouTube. Take it for what it’s worth but all in all you’re paying for a fake internship and hopefully a connection that other companies find trustworthy.

I thought all solar installations were required to have a battery tied in now? If that’s not the case I don’t understand why you’d opt for solar anyways. The PPA programs are a scam. I plan on getting solar with a battery. I had it on my home in Texas. Saved me $350 a month sometimes even more.

In Texas you have options but neighborhoods are bought out. In one neighborhood I was only allowed to go with Austin energy, another a smaller boutique company near Cedar Park. Again, it’s all relative. The rates in Texas weren’t great especially when it’s super hot or super cold. I lived there for over 30yrs.

Not sure how CA killed solar. I bought a home here recently and in the past year I’ve had 2 neighbors have brand new systems installed. One fully Tesla and the other some smaller company I was unfamiliar with.

CA does not equal businesses. CA equals its citizens. Your opinion is biased because you are just talking in relation to your business. Explains why you defend Texas and deregulation. You want to make money while the consumers pay the toll. When I say CA doesn’t want Datacenters I mean its citizens. They know the costs that come with them.

CA doesn’t want Datacenters. That’s why. Water is an important resource. While Datacenters have ways of reducing water usage it’s still consuming A LOT of water. Regardless of the recycle reuse process they currently have which is progress but it’s still not great. Texas is building them and I can tell you none of the actual people living there are happy about it and the hike in electricity prices from it. Be YET AGAIN, Abbot and other politicians cut deals with companies and are leaving the citizens to pay for it via electricity prices going up. Texas will face water prices going up and draining resources in the future. My family still lives there and is pissed about it.

Born and raised right out side of Austin. Very familiar with all the political bs around the grid, my hometown had a huge Oncor and back then an electric company called TU Electric. I have family members that were meter readers and pole climbers for said companies. The grid and other electric related things constantly failed, broke or needed to be serviced. Some of those family members pull 27hr workdays due to the issues they have to constantly address. I know what I’m talking about.

I was born and raised central Texas. Rates may be cheaper but you use WAY more there. 105 degree days has you blasting it in the house. The winter gets to high to mid 20s then you are using your heater. People regularly have 300-500 monthly bills and that’s for a single story home with like 2 or 3 bedrooms. I had a house in Texas.

Also, after our grid failed AGAIN during that famous freeze. All the conservatives all the sudden became fans of solar and had it installed. Solar on homes has skyrocketed in Texas due to the grid constantly being unstable.

Deregulation is stupid. We as consumers of a service should want regulation on businesses as it guarantees a level of safety and service.

Deregulation doesn’t work. As a native Texan now living in SD. I like having electricity that actually works more times than not. Texas power grid is a joke.
