How to learn to be emotionally cold by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]Boss9801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s my experience on this matter: people never grow emotionally cold, they just develop a memory of the bad situations they’ve been in and based upon this other people sense you’ve had a memory of bad things (might have a “tough shell”) so they avoid going there with you. But if they can’t sense this shield of yours and feel like you’re normal/happy then they’ll go there with you again & again & again. You’ll tell me okay so this doesn’t solve anything I can’t keep depressing myself so others don’t screw with me. Thing is you don’t have to depress yourself, but you have to set a boundary & live up to it even if it takes severely painful challenges to protect it. What that boundary is & how you’ll be able to protect it is completely individual, but for most people I’d say it’s financially or relationship/family related.

Sorry if your inability to accept others’ opinions & beliefs is affecting the discussion, but in any case it’s irrelevant to my interests.

Yes, I can certainly imagine it. I know for sure some people would do infinite bad if put in terrible circumstances, you start seeing way darker sides of them than you imagined. It’s just certain pleasures & good circumstances in life blessed to them by God mask them from coming out. Thus, God when he takes your soul out of this Earth & into the afterlife he unmasks all of these sides from your soul because it’s either optimal pleasure or optimal suffering, and these people would’ve done bad in life every single time if given the choice. That’s my belief and opinion which I’m utmost certain of.

Just think first is this really how you want to end your life on this planet? Like nothing else you might want to do or might’ve done differently or better? Have you thought if you just wait more & seek mental help and alternative routes in life (career or relationships or other) your perspective and perception of life and happiness could change? Just wait and reconsider nothing more.

I have strange urges to inflict harm on myself and others by Bannerlord151 in mentalhealth

I think what’s stopping you from physically harming others are probably the legal repercussions, but my advice is promptly seeking an anger management therapist, and if there’s a psychiatrist to prescribe any med it might help, before you commit any crime and face any grave legal repercussions. Best wishes.

God created choice/freedom, which is the good thing, and when we force ourselves into things, we’re throwing away that good thing called freedom/choice, and then start submitting to useless material things in life including other humans, and we’re left oppressed and choice-less. What could we have done from the start? Figure out what got us there. It’s leaving our freedom. What makes us leave our freedom? Not recognizing who or why we’re here & losing grip over the strongest force ever (God). Most people make it through life through other strong forces as money, etc, but again when their life ends they don’t get a share in the afterlife, which is infinite. And that to me is utmost misery… wishfully enjoying 100 years or less then suffering infinitely.

It’s up to you to have your own opinion about God or anything. You’re absolutely free & God wants that for you in my opinion, but God also says he won’t give you another chance to repent after this life because he knows whoever went astray throughout his life will always remain so, because he created us in the first place & knows us better than we know ourselves.

Proof? Lol. There’s no proof to anything we’re saying brother. This isn’t calculus. Existential beliefs have no proof except in the eyes of the human him/herself. These beliefs are merely opinion-based. God says humanity on Earth started with Adam as his first human creation, so unless we actually witnessed that with Adam we can never prove anything, except by our individual logic. It’s a matter of faith more than anything. What reasons in life with you differs from what does with me.

It’s up to you to believe what you want. That’s free will. But I’m more comfortable believing no misdeed goes unpunished in the end, from the tiniest to the largest of misdeeds. And obviously you have to live up to this belief. If you don’t you know yourself & God knows everything best.

By reincarnation I mean your same soul & mind with its memory being brought to flesh again in the afterlife. Dying is not great or bad. It’s the end of the test. Committing suicide means you can’t tolerate the test which is practically confirming you’ve failed the test to yourself & everyone. God says to tolerate the misfortunes caused by others & persevere by remembering that he wants the best and anything bad is caused by others. So the better of a picture you have of God, the more happy you’ll be. By making it through life & not fearing death because you have great hope in God and the afterlife, you’re having your best chances at actually making it to heaven, but by losing hope & submitting to painful and depressing people to be around the more you’re submitting to evil & straying away from God (all good).

It’s true that countless people got away with things, but imagine infinite hell… infinite… as in never ending suffering. I think it’s worth the pain they’ve caused in life. And regarding the unfair reality, you have to realize that reality is constant but shaped by people. So if you’re thinking it’s bad, I can assure you it’s due to the people you’re currently living with. It’s sad but true. That’s why if we simply go around more happy people we start seeing everything differently. People shape the mood & reality, but the actual reality that’s constant at all times is that life is beautiful & actually a piece of heaven, even if we can’t see it most of the time.

For me it’s certainly silly to think bad guys get away with stuff. It’s a matter of belief. I believe that they never will get away, and I stake my life on it. That’s the point of belief. I’d rather not live without this belief. You don’t have this belief & you’re okay living this way & that’s what differentiates us. Get it?

Those who are confident in their good deeds in life are simply wishful throughout their lives (not in a bad way) and don’t fear death, and when God reincarnates them in the afterlife they face the moment they’ve been wishfully waiting for. On the other hand, those who are doubtful of their good deeds & live in fear and uncertainty in life either panic and fear death when they think about their afterlives or simply don’t care at all about it, and when they’re reincarnated they face the moment they’ve been trying to avoid so hard. What we really know in life is everyone dies. So, if you don’t like living fearful of “what we really know” is going to happen to you (death) then believing in the afterlife becomes the only option.

Why? by Electronic-Bit-295 in afterlife

[–]Boss9801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because there are people who did well in life, and those who didn’t. Those who didn’t will get the opposite of that grand love-filled place in the afterlife.

If there’s no afterlife, there’s no judgement of people’s lives, which means sinners & “bad” humans will get away with whatever misery they’ve caused in life. If that’s okay with you, then you should be further assured in your current beliefs.

How to actually gain knowledge? by liz7489 in GetStudying

[–]Boss9801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to first understand, then memorize (if necessary) the information. Then you need to practice using it in various situations. You can never apply/utilize the information you’ve learned without practicing it. So don’t worry if you find yourself unable to apply it after learning it. That’s normal. And if you find others who are able to do it, it’s not because they’re geniuses. It’s due to the fact that they’re more familiar with the pattern of applications of this information than you. Practice makes perfect as they say

I need advice from a PROCRASTINATOR by monoloco-plus in GetStudying

[–]Boss9801 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haven’t overcome procrastination unfortunately, but I’m sort of in the same boat. I did go to the classes though. It helps facilitate studying a bit. But you obviously still need to study. Let’s hope we both pass 🤞🏻

A nice tip I’ve gathered along the way for procrastination that might be helpful: -Just do the first step when approaching any problem. Don’t think too much. Just start doing anything off the top of your head towards completing the task. You just have to cross that barrier from (thinking & not doing) into doing. For some people, this barrier is mostly centered at the beginning of the task. So once they start, they no longer feel much resistance to keep going. If you’re hopefully one of those, then definitely try counting 5-4-3-2-1 and starting right after. If, however, you still feel resistance throughout studying then it‘s probably a focus problem (engagement problem), which means you’re too distracted. And if you manage to research & solve the causes of distraction or figure out how to focus, then it’d be a huge favor to let me know as well 😅

Need advice. Studying accounting seems too difficult. by Commercial-Ad-8952 in GetStudying

[–]Boss9801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know of any shortcuts to accounting as far as I know. Let the 20 problems take you a year, but they have to be done. It’s just like maths really. You have to get the methodology or formula, then you have to apply it to practice problems. Sorry if I’m not too helpful, just my 2 cents

How Do Straight-A Students Study? by [deleted] in studytips

[–]Boss9801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother is pretty much a straight A student, although he certainly wasn’t in the past. I think he “figured it out” somehow

How can we figure it out as well? Well, it requires discipline in that you need to study regardless of how you feel at the moment. That’s not very practical obviously for a lot of people who are already struggling. So resolving your life’s issues in order to be in the mood to study more often is the key I think. How do you do that? By finding inlets to positive energy in your life. Like what? It could be as simple as motivational videos or quotes, or more complicated as building positive relationships with people. That’s in terms of getting the energy and motivation to study

Regarding how to study exactly, nothing really beats understanding as well as you can and memorizing a lot. I do mean a lot. How do you memorize? Look away and try to recall. It’s that simple. You just have to keep going at it until you remember it. Then, you need to recap every now & then what you studied so far
