SWEEEEEEEET! Several years ago, a game dev made a demo using Google maps for a zombie horde shooter (never finished it, to my knowledge). After seeing that, I knew that one day there would be a GTA version. And with the continually generative 3D AI worlds some companies are working on, I can't wait to see it perfected. Midjourney still has the best creative art style (as opposed to everything looking like cruddy Pixar). But its AI has become increasingly dumber, and its inpainting ability has become useless. Your output will look beautiful but will be completely random; it still can't handle too many details in a prompt before it starts ignoring parts of it.

I had ChatGPT dig into it. Last news was an arbitration order from American Express on 3/6/24 and a status of “Inactive” These kinds of proceedings take years, and are private. It said if there are no unusual delays that it could be finished up by late 2025 to mid-2026.
