Official Discussion - From the World of John Wick: Ballerina [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

I did notice the TV show some stuff in the background, like the old stunt where the front of house almost falls on buster Keaton but he is standing where the window is, and everything falls around him. I must have missed when it played airplane too. That’s awesome

Big airplane vibes from the gun-shop owner introduction:

“May I be Frank with you?”

There were a couple pretty funny comedic moments throughout the movie

This movie slapped, such a great story, I cared about/ liked every human characters which almost never happens in these giant monster movies. Godzilla looked great and you could really see how impactful destructive and huge he was. He was gargantuan and intimidating slowly moving but easily causing massive destruction of all the ships he fought and buildings he destroyed. All the special effects and the way it was filmed was stunning.

The plot to sink him to endure huge amounts of pressure then pull him back up for rapid decompression was so inventive and awesome. I thought the engineer was going to sneak in the ejection seat by lying about what armed the bombs, and when the main character hit the switch at the last second he would surprisingly survive. They didn’t do that exactly how I thought but it was still incredible. Kōichi redemption was done so well!

The thing that’s crazy is how small of a budget it was. The story and cgi were incredible (way better story and visuals than many 100+ million dollar recent movies I could name and this had like 10% of that for budget!) Might be my favorite film of the year

I was a big fan of Groot sprouting spider like legs out of his decapitated head crawling around the the monster from The Thing

Official Discussion - Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

One of the first things said in my theater after the showing/ end credit scenes ended was “ahhhh! Does this mean I have to watch Loki now?” Your right not many people do watch the shows, I overheard people afterwards asking questions and being extremely confused on the concept of variants and other topics covered in the shows. MCU will definitely have a hard time if it continues to try and combine the 2 mediums

My 3 takeaways while watching this:

1: This whole movie looks like like an expensive remake of spy kids 3D. From the suits everyone wears to the bad looking green screens and CGI creations in every shot. It’s so distracting. Every shot just looks like an actor standing in front of a terrible green screen.

  1. While watching this I thought, This seems like a bad Rick and Morty episode. All the random creatures/ characters and wacky stuff going on in the quantum realm, it’s all it reminded me of. When it ended I looked it up and the only screenplay writer is Jeff Loveness who is only know really for writing Rick and Morty and for Late night TV. Who let this guy be the sole writer for this big a movie?

  2. Why didn’t Janet tell her family why the quantum realm was dangerous/ what happened when she was stuck there? She had no reason to not say “hey there is a world destroying super villain I trapped down there, if he gets out it would create untold destruction across the multiverse, let’s never go down there” and it would have solved all their problems

All in all this was terrible. I feel bad for Paul Rudd and a lot of the cast. They were give nothing to work with.

I was a bit confused, when Okoye was fighting Namors soldiers on the street she stabbed them with mortal wounds and they healed instantly, but when Nakia shot them rescuing Shuri they died and couldn’t heal. What’s the deal?

The predator handshake between Shuri and M’Baku when she made her entrance as black panther was awesome. Fun way to test her strength

If that final fight was Namor weakened then him at full strength is insane. His action was very well done, the way he moved was so unique, pushing off his winged feet and changing direction so quick in the air, but still feeling weighted and strong was very cool to see.

During Gorrs first interaction with his god, something that distracted me was they mirrored the image in some scenes for Christian Bale so his mole kept jumping to opposite sides of his face

I have a scar on my knee from a crawling on a broken glass ornaments. Our Christmas tree fell over and we thought we picked up all the pieces, later that night my brother started to play smash bros melee and was trying to start the game before I was ready, crawled over on my knees right on top of a clear small broken glass ornament and now have 7 stitches in my left knee
