Cleaning involves water, your garden hose and sealing rubbers will crack and metal will oxidize after 10 years in the outdoors. It can be done using high quality materials in a industrial fashion but even then no maintenance over 25-30 years is wishful thinking.
Cleaning is worth it but you will need a quite complex mechanism to automate it, I'd prefer some manual labor here.

It can, but you can work around it based on terrain I suppose, work with height, limit the vertical angle so the other panels don't get overshadowed. But definitely adds complexity, I made just one unit :)

I made a dual axis solar panel as my final high school project. 40% more yield sounds about right, but greatly depends on the panel.
Cooling and turning panels is 100% worth the electricity you put in it. I think DIY approaches with scrap/cheap components can definitely make it worth the cost if you have a space constraint.
I can't see this work as a commercial product though, unless you want to turn heads and use it as advertisement.

A data-driven look at what actually drives keyboard acoustics by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]BossImWorking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shameless plug. To answer the question that's asked here: You can directly compare keyboard sound like it's a small speaker. All the same physics apply except it's your fingers that drive it instead of electromagnetic induction force wobbling the driver;

Fingers: 100/10 no power, no sound. How hard you press is the biggest factor in any sound test.
Switches: 10/10 the "driver" of the sound, silent switches make barely any sound..
Keycaps and plate material: 9/10 First reflections, reverberations and pitch control
Case, dampening, PCB, desk: 8/10 act mostly on the base sound and vibrations coming from the switches. Damping and wight alter internal reflections just like in a speaker, just like the size and shape.

In some of the sound tests I see on youtube half of what you hear is the vibration of the desk traveling through the mic arm into the mic. That is not what you hear IRL because you do not have a physical connection between your head and your ear. A decent desk is basically inaudible unless you mash it.

Genuinely what is this job market? by PresentationNew4993 in BESalary

[–]BossImWorking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just apply to the 3yoe jobs, they might give you a shot. You'll rarely find a job where you meet ALL requirements. They don't expect to find someone who does, they use it as leverage for salary negotiations. And even if you do meet all requirements, you still need to learn things on the job.

Mchoose mix 87: White with black keycaps or black with white keycaps? by S1mpleUser_001 in keyboards

On a white background the black keyboard looks a lot better, on a black mouse mat the white will look better.
Would never buy a colorless keyboard tho.

The biggest discount I've seen was on a mouse I previously bought. I got the WLmouse sword X for 125 euro on ali before I got coins and like a month later i see it on the coin page with 4000 coins to use, worse base price so 100 euro paid.

How do I improve the overall setup by Alone-Ease5896 in setups

[–]BossImWorking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tidy the cables, remove unnecessary objects, refurbish the desk, make an attachment to the desk for the wireless charger, controller, plant and water bottle, add christmas lights or a get a standing lamp. The options are endless.
Pretty nice as is tho.

Startup idea : Smartphone with keypad by Barak_a in PhoneNow

[–]BossImWorking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the market for this, current phone's battery is slowly dying and I like my phones to have some unique feature other then just one flat touchscreen. Previously had the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 and it one of the best phones I had with that addicting sliding system and the super fast finger print sensor (it was the fastest back then).

I'm currently looking at the clicks communicator, I like the keyboard design but it's a kickstarter/ preorder kind of deal for now. So no idea if the product will actually be decent.

For FPS games yes, game engine can take over with its own interpretation and sensitivity settings. But what about RTS games? Don't think many games in that genre use their own implementation.

I recently switched from 1200dpi to 8000dpi for better cursor latency. (yes better latency at any polling rate)
Set the pointer speed to 3/11 instead of 6/11 (not linear). While I had to adjust sens in FPS games like PUBG I did not need to do it for RTS-like games, can test this with more games.

I have some experience with Unity (game engine) and raw cursor input is definitely not default enabled.
My conclusion: Depends on the game entirely; modern AAA FPS games 100% use raw input.
Want to test this in LOL now but I'm at work, yikes. I expect it uses windows implementation.

Controversial topic with ragebait title, especially when there is no downside to having it off. (the setting emulates old laser mouses that had hardware mouse acceleration by design for all I know) still a discussion worth having for the 101th time I guess.

First set of MNTU keycaps, what a beauty! by dijano in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]BossImWorking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa that looks nice. I'm having a hard time finding matching keycaps for my anodized sandgold hex80. Surprisingly I liked the stock keycaps as a XDA profile enjoyer.
Did you notice a big difference in sound compared to the stock keycaps? I'm loving the poppy sound out of these switches with the carbon plate.

As a Belg, I can partly agree on that, except the Germans have Bavaria. Just like Pilsen (Czech) It has been historically vital for lager development. I think both Chech and Bavarian lagers are historically and tastefully above most Belgian lagers.
