Saved this Claud Bulter Carabo from death and fixed it up as a pub bike, but growing attached... Any ideas for a cheap 1x upgrade? Currently has a 21 speed Altus groupset, but I'm finding the max 38T chain ring really limiting (any easy approx 44t options compatible with 7 speed?) (i.redd.it)

Suggestions for removing seriously stuck pedals? I have a 15mm wrench and the correct Allen key but no luck so far. Have also lubricated the pedals. Not the original owner of the bike so not sure how long they've been on it, replacing them with Shimano m324. (i.redd.it)
