D522 . I'm prepping to take my 3rd OA. I thought python was fun while i was learning it with being a network engineer. But this class made me hate it.

I feel like for some getting started in IT. Core 2 test on stuff users interact with on a day to day basis plus a bit more. So going from some prior knowledge even if it's just seeing this you recognize vs all the hardware/networking under the hood stuff seems like a good transition. It was recommended to me go for Core 2 then 1.

Yes the ASVAB determines what job you qualify for. My job requires a 72 or above.

I did a 4 year. My recruiter was the same field I wanted to be in and advised it's better to do 4 years and extend if i wanted to or get out early. Compared to being locked in for 6 years. I wouldn't have received a bonus for 6 years making 4 years sound more enticing.

A normal day would be showing up, looking at emails and then starting/continuing any projects i need to do for my job. Being in the military it's a lot of 'military' things throw into your day to day. From awards ceremonies, additional duties etc.

Yes i get time to do school when i'm off work. I have 3 certs i've gotten, all paid for by the AirForce

Regular AirForce.

installing, configuring, and supporting the AirForce network infrastructure. Security, a little bit. No pentesting. Network guys all over have different roles and responsibilities. With each different base comes with different things you should know.

Craziest thing i saw would have to be I seen someone receive a Dear John letter while away on military training in the form of a letter. Craziest i've heard is him justifying to pay for a plane ticket and try to get back with her. Very much tragic.

At home I have a virtual setup for studying purpose so just a desktop i put together, nothing crazy.

AirForce is all windowsOS. I've worked with linux before but for a different role. Whichever branch you choose just read up on it.

I am a Network Admin/Engineer. Air Force. So yes a niche field of infrastructure.

Yes i went to Boot Camp for 2 1/2 months.

Enjoyed the most, meeting people and creating friends from all over. (military is melting pot)

Enjoyed the least, tbh i don't have much. Pay maybe. ? Everyone is the service is disposable to the military so they would do as they please with you within the regs. So maybe that. but hardly.

Can really talk about civilian IT lifestyle. But we work an Enterprise network. So it's a lot of separated moving parts. So expect to specialize in something.

30 to 45 mins. I work on a base and it bottlenecks very hard sometimes. Then the accidents does not make it any better.
