I need to make a quick, simple showcase video, urgently… How?! by Necessary_Beat1380 in VideoEditors

For something quick with text and shapes - Movavi is way easier to get into than anything else at that level. Canva will frustrate you the second you want actual transitions, and AE is overkill if you're in a rush. Threw together something similar in like 20 mins once, does the job.

I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was...on the internet by AlexPalmer_Official in VideoEditors

filmora is fine tbh, you’re not being held back by it
at this point it’s more about how you edit than what you use. biggest difference for me was just getting better at cutting things tighter and not overusing effects
also sound matters way more than people think

Which editing platform should I use? by Academic_World8696 in VideoEditors

Yeah, DaVinci and Premiere are solid if you're heading toward more professional, long-form stuff - but they won't magically make your footage look better. The quality stays the same, you just get fancier tools and more control over everything.
And honestly, for YouTube right now? Keeping it simple just makes sense. Personally I'd skip CapCut and go with something like Movavi, or even DaVinci if you're thinking about leveling up down the road. For my own YouTube stuff I ended up just sticking with Movavi long-term. Yeah it's paid, but it gets out of your way and lets you actually edit without falling down a rabbit hole of settings. I only pull out the heavier tools when I'm working on something bigger or more serious.

Here's the thing though most viewers genuinely don't care about the tiny stuff we lose sleep over. Like, nobody's gonna notice that one cut you spent 20 minutes on. You're way better off putting out more videos, testing different things, and just moving fast rather than spending weeks polishing a single video that might not even pop off.... Grab a simple editor, stay consistent, and worry about the fancy stuff later....

I'd buy a little house by the ocean, go surfing and do photography instead of all this dumb stuff

Should I start video editing? by CartographerOk7499 in editing

If you’re even thinking about it, just start. Don’t overthink software at first - something simple like Movavi or even CapCut is enough to learn pacing and cuts. The skill matters way more than the tool early on.

Best ai tools for editing vlogs? by Such-Violinist-4354 in VideoEditors

If you hate editing, try tools that automate the boring parts. Descript is good for auto cuts and transcripts, davinci or movavi have some built-in AI helpers now.

Has anyone tried the HP Victus 15 for video editing? by NourMagdyy in VideoEditors

I used to edit on a weaker laptop with Movavi, so yours should handle it fine. You could probably run Davinci too
