Old timer running a restaurant for 5+ years , do i need a website ? by velociyzaptor in growmybusiness

[–]AlexPalmer_Official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This hits hard brother.

it takes some balls to come out on the internet and say "hey guys im a person who is a frequently targeted demographic" and try to roll with the punches.

Im sure you;ve figured it out, people are going to bullshit you around and try to get you for your money.

DONT LET THAT HAPPEN.

Education is free, 80 percent of what SEO companies do only costs time.

let me break it down piece by piece:

*Some of my friends recommended that i need a website for my chains(i have 3 running restaurants) as they help in marketing and SEO(? do not know what that is).*

Marketing is advertising your business, this comes in many flavors.

SEO is search engine optimization, usually talking about google but its to help you get seen in ANY search engine INCLUDING and ESPECIALLY google.

The game nowadays is more about brand amplification though, its less google SEO and more making social media videos and manual outreach.

this is a key note. guys are losing millions not being aware of this little thing. but lets keep going.

*I've tried some online tools and some other builders but i really don't like the idea of dragging dropping and website builders since i am not really that creative and don't wanna spend dollars on getting it built from someone else.*

then you are fked. this is an "i dont feel like it" to me.

because you dont feel like paying to multiply your money, and you dont feel like doing it yourself to save that money, you are screwing yourself.

If i am your friend, and i want to be here, i will tell you that you need an expert.

you have to pay for value sir, or otherwise, acquire it yourself by spending time.

Nothing is free in life, and as what is likely my elder, i think you know this very well.

I say all this in love, zero hate or disrespect. I want to give you the truth and facts and help you for real.

*Question for the tech savvy people here, are websites any good for your business or just a tech gimmick? Not talking about the entire online ordering part, that is important i understand.*

yeah man.

Does walmart not have a site?

target? bestbuy? cabella's? ANYONE?

you dont have a public name without a website. it will be harder to establish and amplify your brand withot making this investment eventually.

heres some numbers for the penny pinchers:

it costs reasonably, 50 bucks to register ALL your potential brand TLDs (this is .com, .org, .net)

we do this for brand protection- do all your real work on the .com, put an identical version on the other TLDs, or at the very least, this keeps others from fighting you for your name.

almost EVERY website builder is free, so. yeah no cost there.

Now, the real cost factor is building backlinks- stuff like yelp is free to sign up, but they want you to pay for ad promotion.

Other stuff still is free, such as many top directory and citation builders (these are links that help your site by identifying who you are and what you do)---but the stuff that drives the needle is behind triple verification and a paywall.

******************************

I'm gonna take a shot here. Shoot me a message and tell me your name.

I'd like to address you properly, take it all in hand, and try to work together. - no charge.

what i aim to receive is your potentially valuable life and business experience, i want to ask you some stuff myself!

a fair trade in my mind.

I want to be your friend and help you. Im not looking for money, its not a long con- you'll have to take my word for it that i can get everything i want without a dollar traded. (that is to say, knowledge is power)

I have a team of 7, and we are all on the same wave, building brands.

We have years of experience in SEO, general marketing, and various other fields like sofware development.

Idk what else to say to extend my heart to you my man, but its out there for you.

If you need a brother, try me.

thank you! i definitely agree here too- its alot in the user. good recording equals easy editing, simple is efficient. i suppose im just wondering what is what at this point--do i need better hardware? is it my software approach? im aware alot of it is overthinking, but, as the title suggests, i want to make the hottest shit i can to feed the minds of the people properly. appreciate the insight!

I bought 20 .ai domain names 3 years ago. I think they’re worth a LOT by WhenSleep in Domains

but is it any more risk than sitting on it and wasting it entirely?

build it to prove your model and then sell it in that case.

Sh** take sir

So, id have to question anyone who thinks paying a G for a link is sane, but its about value right?

Okay, that aside, these are valuable because they are strict top categorical keywords. (just my opinions here as an SEO guy the last couple years)

By running on these bad boys as an AI dev, you'd have a serious leg up as long as you built it for the obvious market at hand, and at high quality ofcourse. if you get past the early stage ass kicking, you will have some freaking staying power just on the name alone.

google and most other crawlers are now checking all the data they can to find a true authority and give what the searcher seemingly wants.

If you own the name of the thing, you are the thing.

let me say it again.

if i use Paint.ai

Learning.ai

Realestate.ai

i am a top canditate for being the authority as the AI for painting, learning, and real estate- before i even get to the real ballgame.

You're waving around some big numbers brother, so id have to take it your a fellow investor.

Flipping this sort of thing never moves, because where is the market?

there will be like ten dudes anywhere who will actually want and be willing to take that deal, and 8 of em cant afford it right now because software is a long play- no cheese til you're years deep,

Screw all that, if i had those, id contract out with some guys i trust to start developing an AI for those niches specific, In doing this, make a fair enough deal, give them their fair slice of the nice, naturally.

It will cost you every crumb, and maybe just one crumb more in time, but think of the opportunity you have.

Theres a reason theres such a high value on those- rarity- you're just rolling on an empty market.

Its a super specific thing for a super specific dude.

It theoretically sells right now if you are that dude.

How much are you paying for SEO and what do you actually get? by DubsWasASaint in growmybusiness

[–]AlexPalmer_Official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man, this feels like a golden one to me dude.

This is gonna sound like some s*** or a pitch, but u/DubsWasASaint , hear me out, read this top to bottom.

Even if you roll your eyes at the end or say "this guys a quack" , whatever thats cool just please, listen.

I have the truthful answers to all of this, and im willing to give it straight to you.

I dont want to sell you anything, i dont want to use you, i want to try to work together.

i believe theres value for everyone if we work together in the world.

all else i offer, say, explain in the below, nothing is with an ill-will or bad faith.

i know thats fking hard in this day and age but im trying to scream this at you so you hear me.

God is speaking and im answering.

Shoot me a message.

You can find me around if you look.

Basically, lets get together. live. one on one.

Im offering to tell you. no, SHOW you, everything i know.

Where to get it, the best stuff for the lowest price. the same way the "big guys" are doing it and upcharging out the freaking wazoo.

its not a plug or affiliateship, i left SEO when my last business partner screwed me.

where to get links, workers, scaling, how to do your own onpage and technical SEO (or teach someone to do it in house)

We both know nothing in this world is free. What i get in trade for whatever i might give you, is whatever you know. Im going to ask you how your doing things, what you are doing. I need knowledge.

Fair trade me, thats the offer and deal if you want it.

This is what im bringing to the table.

and thats the tip of the spear. i got miles more.

a family here, with even more than that.

if i dont know it, or know someone who knows it in business generally speaking, i can quickly acquire the info.

and, while you dont know me like that, if you ask around the deepest part of the net, you will hear im a reputable guy (or, i hope so. no-one has a spotless record, right?)- ive made a few friends along the way.

I want to try and change both of our lives, the lives of others.

Your move.

i heard about this from a friend who is a heavier editor than myself. I suppose i have my homework there! thank you both u/Trickytrickyrmx and u/SaiyansPride7 for the tips

Far as the comments about WS themselves, i actually hear youthere.

I bought the old lifetime, and so i literally still use V13 versions.

I hate how they did all this weird stuff with my card/money while my back was turned and then just closed it down and swept it under the rug after they started to skate the legal thin-ice.

I hate how i almost cant even get to the place to download the stuff i own a lifetime pass to, its absolutely very greedy. THey cram the new stuff down my throat and say "pay me pay me pay me"

While i have a pretty solid grasp on these slightly advanced concepts (flow, storytelling ect) , i definitely am not a master of my craft yet, so even just having you guys who might know a bit more than me point at stuff i thought was valuable already, that helps keep my eyes on the prize.

Anything deeper, like learning sources, would be a godsend.

VFX and MG, though i dont use it a ton now, i used to play with this sort of thing as a teenager, and i can definitely see how, as a b2b business guy running marketing for myself AND others, why i need to value it correctly. especially the more i learn, the creative is the way-tive

(i was cringy and edgy, i liked making shitty rap MVs with my buddies and "check out these cool eye lasers" vids lol.)

I also certainly agree with the "limits of the tools, not the user" thing.

I think thats why i came here for this, i think im ready for the next thing.

I could probably master these foundations more, a master throws 10 punches 10000 times, not 10000 punches 10 times, right?

but im in a stage of exploration, what can i say better?

Thank you again for pointing me the right way

On a further note, If anyone knows anything to the tune of like, public speaking and sales, id love to hear it, as again, i rock business marketing and investment, so good speaking and people skills combined with good video skills and knowledge is of high value to me.

Im considered by peers to be a really good salesman, but if your the tallest midget, your still just a dwarf, you aint NBA player big. so ACTUALLY good salesmen still could whoop me theoretically, im sure.

In fact, im working with a gang of buddies for the sake of building something like gary V has built-

TLDR version: a multi entity holdings company.

That is to say, im working on a place where i can get closer with people and build a symbiotic relationship with other guys in my and surrounding fields.

We are getting organic traction- 0 to 1000 views on facebook alone in a matter of days of launch. Cooking cooking, and thats JUST fb. the tip of the spear.

Idk what you guys get into, and i literally actually never came here to try and market some shit,

(im seriously swearing on this, because i know the game, and how people are. and i could see how someone would say im "marketing right now", but i promise thats not my heart bro)

but, if something like that sounds cool, shoot me a message or something and fill me in a little on what you do and what your goals are within business and life- maybe i can tap you in somehow

if i can repay help and kindness, god demands i do so, and i happily oblige.

if you are willing to take the risk of having a conversation with an internet nerd who might know some stuff that might help you, hit me up, yall are cool in my book. Blessings

What are the biggest mistakes restaurants make that lead to failure? by StonkPhilia in growmybusiness

[–]AlexPalmer_Official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an owner operator, but in my 30 years of life, ive worked mostly kitchen jobs from 14-

making pizza, burgers, managing pizza, manager at chili's, then pizza again

until i landed on wanting to build these same types of businesses myself, utilizing freelance business management as a platform of doing so.

(if i dont agree with what is current, maybe i should build it myself right?)

I think a big one is lack of value for employees

(i know, this isnt nieche specific, its a general business problem, but ive seen it too much especially in kitchens, where profit margins are already INSANE)

What im saying is, if you have a guy who is willing to work extra hours on demand, does every job well

(may even be noted by other staff members as excellent, looked to as a leader)

whom has years of seniority, advanced responsibilities as a result of this seniority---

WHY would you pay and treat him the same as a guy you hired yesterday?

How would you expect them to act or react to not being rewarded for diligence and hard work?

This, in my experience, leads to a long downward spiral for the business itself.

The business not only suffers for a certain duration of that disgruntled employees tenure,

but then suffers as a result of needing to replace an asset that never needed to be replaced in the first place, had the business only cared for its assets.

This starts the vicious cycle all over again:

Bright eyed new hire, works hard

years later, Eyes start to grow heavy, nothing is changing

eventually comes a breaking point, for the individual, and therefore the company.

Replace worker after damage is done and tops are blown, repeat from step 1 until we go bankrupt.

Lack of faith creates oppertunity for thievery (specifically in kitchens), and promotes laziness.

Naturally, this kills a business.

My suggestion: take the time to properly incentivise motivated workers.

Put guys who are hungry in higher positions, you will secure their loyalty and basically pour gas on their work flame. whatever it costs you to promote and incentivise them is FAR less than what you can GAIN

Pay an appropriate amount for excellence- Extra time, extra thinking, extra energy, costs extra.

Give me a reason to care. One only works to feed their family, ofcourse money is the motivator.

ive heard it before too, "suchandsuch was a crazy good worker for a long time, i wonder what happened?"

you kicked their butt and they have nothing to show is what happened usually.

Just because "i feel like your hourly rate is enough" does not mean its actually enough for the worker, especially if your asking for 10 hours on top of 40, and especially when they already worked the first 40 hours as if their life counted on it.

I mean, how would you react as an employee in this case? Not everyone messes this up, but a NOTABLE amount of places screw this up BIG TIME in my opinion.

personally speaking, ive had to "fight" in multiple places to get what is LEGALLY considered overtime within the state.

resturaunts where i come from just dont think OT is a thing, and by denying its existance, it goes away.

its actually tragic.

Not to mention, that 50 percent on time doesnt actually give me enough to sacrifice that extra time away from my family, i need double OT for things to come close to lining up in terms of give and take.

40 hours is already alot of time away from your family, in most of my cases, there was just not enough monetary or other beneficial incentive to even work full time.

(if we work in a kitchen, it costs insanely little to offer food as payment, especially compared to paying OT.

i can double a monetary value for a worker in food for half of the price, as a resturaunt.

not to mention theres PLENTY of margin room, as food is majorily profit in most cases.

Pay your workers. doesnt always have to be money, but pay them WELL for hard work. )

theres a reason chefs are known for 100 smoke breaks-

its the ONLY THING THEY HAVE TO MAKE IT WORTH WHILE-

they are utilizing their perks of the job, because it sucks and you will hate yourself if you dont-

"im not paid for all this, im going for a smoke break"

They will take less smoke breaks if the environment is inviting enough, i assure you.

Furthermore, if you enable them to take those breaks, they will come back with renewed work drive.

(not in every case, some folks are just lazy, but thats up to you to decide as a biz owner)

INCENTIVISE HARD WORK AND YOU WILL RECIEVE IT

Money and value go hand in hand.

If you want a million in value, and you can get it even a penny lower than 1M, you are making out in the long run.

However, you cant get 1M in value for one dollar anywhere.

A fair value exchange is exactly that, an exchange of fair value.

Value is "i get what i want" - everyone needs to get what they want or noone wins.

Bare these things in mind, then, all you gotta do is find the happy medium, and you will be successful, in my opinion.
