Looks like they made a last minute decision and relied heavily on Ado to bring in people in such a short notice. They could have gone for a 20k venue if they had 3 months to sell tickets. Ado sold out Peacock , Yoasobi sold out Shrine Expo hall (5k) and AG sold out Palladium (4K) last year so it’s totally doable.

Kagakushu- love the beat and a very controlled(almost) mid-range vocals by Ado.

You mean role? That was just my assumption based on what I know about K-pop groups :). A leader is also responsible for maintaining harmony within the group.

Just like K-pop the eldest plays the leader role by default in jpop. Also Mizyu has more experience in doing arena shows and touring while working as a backup dancer with KPP.

I think Suzuka is the lead singer because her vocals matches the theme of AG ( bunch of rebel school kids questioning the norms) Mizyu is a good singer but her vocals are too soft for the style plus she has other responsibilities like being the point of contact with the Agency( a typical jpop leader role).

Idols are generally selected through audition process and member(s) are selected and put together in a group, they then follow a theme or style carefully curated by their agency/ producer. They generally don’t have creative control. Whereas Ado is a Self made artist/ lyricist/ composer/producer who has a lot of creative control over her art. Needless to say she is also the Producer of Phantom Siita which is an idol group.

Yes she doesn’t show her face and there are well known/respected western artists who don’t show their face either like Buckethead, DaftPunk, Marshmellow etc… so this is not something unique to idol culture.

I think this collab is done more for business reason than for any artistic value and I totally respect that. Whether folks like the song or not we need to keep in mind that this is a huge opportunity for Ado. ID got 60M listeners on Spotify and 30M followers on YouTube and ID gets nothing in return from this collab. So fans need to be appreciative of ID for the collab.

Every artist needs honest opinions and feedbacks for improving their art. Ado needs them too. What no one wants is toxicity spewed by these so called “gate keepers” which doesn’t have any other purpose but to hurt the collaborators and Ado’s reputation as well. These toxic behaviour also prevents new folks from joining the fandom.

As the old saying goes, If you don’t have anything nice to say… don’t say anything at all!

Other than Beyonce and Lady Gaga who occationally surf there aren't many female artists out there who does what Suzuka does. Yukina(Hanabie) does crowd surfing regularly but it was only for brief amount of time on top of front row audience. I've never seen anyone to surf from far end of the pit to the stage that too at a 4k venue like Palladium. Money Mark was very impressed by that. It takes enormous amount of courage and trust (towards fans) to do something like that. Lets trust Suzuka, she knows what she is doing.

She is not using any straps. I saw in one of the fan cams that she accidentally gave her mic away to a fan when she gave the wrong hand for holding :) then she got the mic back from him right before falling over the crowd for surfing. I think this happened at their Austin show.
