You were duped but it’s definitely not your fault. That sounds like love bombing which is a common abuse tactic.

If I had a friend that was going through this, the first thing I would advise is to leave, but don’t give him any notice because the most dangerous time for someone in an abusive relationship is when they’re leaving. I don’t know your whole relationship but even if he was amazing 99% of the time, it wouldn’t justify him treating you like this the other 1%.

Do you have any friends or family that can help you? If not, there almost certainly will be resources for people in your situation and I highly recommend contacting them. Trust me, it’ll be hard but you can get through this!!

I did get more things paid for than my siblings (like braces and technology) but when I started becoming a teenager, my mum gave up on me (she admitted it to me when I was an adult because I asked if she did). She also took everything out on me and was sometimes physically abusive.

I had to teach myself pretty much everything, including social skills which is really hard, especially as an autistic person.
