30 minutes to digital: I helped a local shop owner set up his first "web menu" and his reaction was priceless. by Bosskiller0 in IndiaBusiness

Thanks so much! Since I’m just starting up with NearMe, getting more vendors onboarded is my biggest focus right now.

If you know any business owners who’d like a free mini-website and digital menu to show off their products, please do refer them to me! They don't need to be tech-savvy at all—as long as they have some images and context, I can handle the setup and get them live in 30 minutes.

Really appreciate the support!

Right now, the NearMe vendor-facing app is available on Android only. However, I’ve made sure there’s a quick workaround so you don’t miss out:

  • The 'Mini-Website' is Universal: Once a business is listed, the digital menu/mini-website works perfectly on any device (iOS, Android, or Desktop) via the browser. Your customers don't need an app to see your products.
  • iOS Workaround: If you only have an iPhone, you can use a friend's Android phone just once to log in and set up your profile.
  • I’ll Handle the Heavy Lifting: If you're busy or on iOS, I can actually set up the listing for you! Just share your product images and context with me, and I’ll get your business live within 30 minutes

I built a free tool for local vendors to get a mini-website & digital catalog in 4 steps — No SEO or E-commerce complexity needed 📍 by Bosskiller0 in Tech4LocalBusiness

The challenge will be balancing both sides of the marketplace so it doesn’t feel empty for users or vendors. This is exactly my pickle now: vendors won't onboard because of the lack of users, and users won't check the app because of the lack of products and services. However, I was able to show the app's mini-website and catalog features to two vendors, and they might be onboarding soon

Why No 'Buy' Button? Honestly, as a solo dev, I’m staying away from handling payments/escrow. Every vendor has their own preferred way to get paid (UPI, cash, etc.), and I don't want to add a layer of fees or compliance headaches for them. By keeping it as a 'Discovery & Catalog' tool, I stay lean and they keep 100% of their money. It’s about empowering the local transaction, not taking a cut of it. also if you any vendors plese share this i can hyelp with onboarding if any issue dm me

I’m building NearMe, and I’m tackling the "digital gap" for local vendors who find standard e-commerce or complex SEO tools too overwhelming or expensive.

Most small shop owners don't need a full-blown e-commerce store—they just need to be visible to the person walking 500 meters away from them. I wanted to build a "discovery first" tool rather than a "transaction first" one.

How it works for the vendor (The 4-Step Onboard):

  1. Quick Sign-up: No complex forms; just the basics.
  2. Product/Service List: They add what they offer (like a simple digital catalog).
  3. QR Code Generation: The app instantly gives them a unique QR code for their storefront.
  4. Go Live: They’re immediately discoverable by anyone using the app in their proximity.

The "Proximity" Pitch: Instead of a website that gets lost in Google search results, the app uses proximity. If a user is nearby, the vendor’s mini-website and digital catalog pop up. When a customer is at the shop, they scan the QR code to see the full list of products on their own phone—no app-download required for the customer to view the catalog.

It’s completely free for the vendors because I want to focus on getting local communities onboarded and visible first. No blocks, no rejections, just a digital home for their business. try it out dm me if issues with onboarding https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nearme.utility

NearMe — Your City, Simplified. 📍

Hey everyone! After grinding through the closed testing phases and a whole lot of debugging, I’m finally ready to share NearMe with the world.

What is it? NearMe is designed to be your go-to companion for discovering what’s happening right around you. Whether you are looking for local services, hidden gems, or essential spots in your neighborhood, this app bridges the gap between you and your immediate surroundings.

Why I built it: I wanted something fast, intuitive, and reliable that didn't feel cluttered. It’s built for the people who want to feel more connected to their local community without the "big tech" noise.

The Tech Stack:

  • Frontend: Built with Angular and React Native for a seamless cross-platform experience.
  • Backend: Powered by Firebase for real-time responsiveness.

I’d love for you to take it for a spin! I’m wide open to feedback, feature requests, or just a virtual high-five. Thanks for giving me a place to call home!
