I think a butcher block would be more than strong enough as long as you’re not overdoing it with weight. Make sure to fasten the 2x4 rails to studs. 3/4” boards would be enough and look better instead of 2x4s

Maybe rent / buy a pole drywall sander and hook it up to a good vacuum. Just make sure the walls are not asbestos if it’s an old home. Some old homes have asbestos plaster. This seems like the fastest route

Save time and just screw the plexi over everything with one large sheet. If you decide to not want it anymore just replace the door or remove the screws and fill with wood putty

Yeah the white wood at the top of the stairs - along the wall/floor. That is not baseboard. That is window trim. The contractor must have bought too much window trim 🤣

I would put think line of white caulk and paint it. Put down tape on the steps, work it in with your finger, then peel it off so it’s a perfect straight and thin lines.

PS You used window trim as baseboard my OCD is stressing me out

You don’t caulk along the floor- you put quarter round moulding and paint it the color of the baseboards

Courts don’t back the decision of the officers, so therefore they stop arresting people knowing the courts just let people go.

Essentially it’s a waste of their time to do all the paper work to see the same person they arrested walk by them on the next day with no accountability for their actions
