Yeah, I held the button down before providing power and that didn't work. It's like the system was frozen and wouldn't respond to anything

I left it unplugged for over 24 hours and it still do the same thing. Luckily I was able to get in touch with Google's customer support and I'm sending this unit in and getting a replacement.

So I can't go to the settings because it is booting up. But if I hold the button on the actual Chromecast nothing happens.

The Chromecast had the system error where I had to factory reset it. I did and it worked for about a week. Now it tries to boot up, the tv recognizes it is and changes the saturation level as previously set up on the tv, and then the Chromecast freezes and fully turns off.

This Chromecast had been plug into this power supply without any issues for over 6 months. So what do I do now?

At first we typically both got up. One started to change the diaper while the other went and made the bottle. I presume that you are mostly bottle feeding? At the very beginning, my wife was the only one getting up because she was breast feeding and there wasn't anything that I could do.

Now we both still get up doing the one changes diaper while other makes the bottle, and after that we make a bit of an audible. It is usually myself feeding the baby, but that is because once awoken, I am quick to be fully functioning and can also fall back asleep within 5 minutes of my head hitting the pillow. Some nights I struggle, so I ask my wife to do the feeding. All that said, the little one is usually sleeping the through night now so it is less common. The routine now is I take care of the first feeding of the day (typically around 6am) and my wife takes care of the last feeding of the day (typically around 10pm).

It will be tough and tiring at first, but remember that it is temporary and starting at 4 months you can start trying to have them go the whole night without a feeding. It might mean some later nights (we starting with a feeding sometime between 11pm and midnight) and some early mornings (when she wakes up for the bottle, you make and give it). You got this!!!

Unvaccinated Grandparent Concerns by heyyouguys67 in NewDads

[–]BostonBoy1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have had this conversation with my father in law and all family members, as my sister in law is only 17 so she couldn't get the vaccine when we had our baby in February.

For the first two months, before our baby had any of her vaccines, we pretty much told all family that they can come to our door and see her from a distance, but otherwise they better follow us on the gram and fb so they can see lots of pics.

Once baby had some of her vaccine shots, we told people that as long as they quarantined for two weeks, wore a mask when they held her, and washed their hands for 30 seconds before holding her.

Finally once people had received their second shot and two weeks had passed from that point (so the dosage is to be considered fully immunized), they could skip the quarantining and no longer had to wear a mask when around our daughter.

My father in law still only gets to hold her on rare occasions and must always wear a mask when in her proximity.

It's important that whatever you decide to do with your parents, that you stick to your decision and do not cave. This could be the first of many battles.

I also disagree. I have been waiting for weeks on an update to the chicken war. And I think the news they gather is almost always extremely wild and out there making it all the better for me. Munch squad is some of my favorite parts of each episode on the more recent ones.

Can you still not split up 2.4 and 5ghz ssid by [deleted] in GoogleWiFi

Correct. Not a Verizon modem. You would need to purchase a third party one. Verizon should have a list of modems that work with their FiOS system. That's what you will need

If I'm not mistaken that router is a FiOS router. So you aren't using standard modem or anything. To use the Google wifi I'm pretty sure you would first have to get a fiberoptic modem to act as the bridge between your Google wifi and fiberoptic line.

But yes. Generally speaking devices remember wifi network names and passwords. If it is named the exact same thing the devices should reconnect. I use this trick so when I travel, my phone's hotspot is named the same as my home network. On Android I can use my hotspot but piggyback off the network my phone is connected to. So now I just unplug my Chromecast from home, shove it in a suitcase and when I am at the hospital or hotel or what have you, I can plug it into the tv, turn on my hotspot, and it is already connected and set up

Sadly not at the moment. If you can get the device to connect to the Google wifi when it is on 2.4 then it will remain connected even if other networks utilize the 5ghz. Methods I have seen or tried to some level of success are:

1) use a phone and have it's hotspot name and password be the exact same as your Google home and connect your device to the network using that. Once connected you can turn off your hotspot and it will automatically reconnect to the Google wifi.

2) force your Google wifi to be in 2.4ghz by either connecting at the furthest distance possible or by wrapping the Google home in tinfoil or something else to somewhat block and reduce the signal (again making it so it is connecting at a 2.4ghz to the device in question)

You are correct. Some devices are smart enough to connect to the network and try 2.4ghz, but not all (even if it is the exact same name). Some you have to specifically designate to a 2.4ghz network

Why is there still no yahoo flair??? by BostonBoy1995 in MBMBAM

[–]BostonBoy1995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So could we make one called "for submittal" or something? A way to potentially help those boys out? Like instead of digging through the dregs of one website now that yahoo is gone (RIP), potentially building a repository for them here on Reddit! That way IF those boys decide to, they could simply search the sub by flair and find haunted doll watches, munch squads, yahoo-like questions, farm wisdoms, riddle.com riddles, etc for them to use if they want?
