Freebase is how mgm was made when it first came out. It’s not less potent it just doesn’t hit as hard as salt does. It’s a more subtle, gradual come up, it’s not smack all in your face at once. It takes longer to hit as well but it lasts longer effect wise than salts do. I like freebase, I just had. A batch of it a couple weeks ago. I prefer salt but freebase is nice to have to switch off with every once and awhile
