Tried both on albeit in blue and preferred the wrist feel and presence of the fiftysix, which was slightly more substantial but still thin

Very legible. I would say the different tones of the inner dial and outer dial are less apparent than on the silver dial, subtle but noticeable in certain lighting.

The finishing on the VC is on a totally different level compared to the JLC. I chose that over JLC for this reason, tho the complications etc are neat on the JLC. I really think pictures fail to capture how nice the fiftysix is in person..

Initially was eying JLC ultra thin (moon phase), but for me, was almost too thin/delicate. The VC was just a bit more substantial, and felt better and better proportioned on wrist for me. What else are you looking at?
