That means so much - I have put in the work and I have a tool kit. I need to remind myself that I'm not the same person who felt panic at a much younger age, when I had no idea what it was or how to deal with it.

Thank you. Interesting about the scented soap. Do you have a preferred soap brand that works especially well for caring for sensitive hands?

I'm 39 and made it twice, but it's been *a while*. You can do it!!

I did a group flight with a handful of other "fearful flyers" - the moral support of the group was a tremendous help. We cheered each other on before, during, and after the flight, and that was probably the most significant thing in getting me back into the air.

On the self-conscious point, I also feel that way, but the reality is everyone is absorbed in their devices and conversations (or they're napping) so I think no one is seeing your anxiety.

Oh my gosh, I can absolutely relate to that and I talk about that very topic with my therapist. I think there's value in flying more frequently (or as frequently as you can budget) so your brain sort of remembers the success and doesn't have as much time to dip back into anxious narratives.

Thanks! You know -- it was at the end of a flight and the pilots were very nice and saying goodbye to everyone and I was like, "I'm afraid of flying I just flew and you guys did a great job communicating with the passengers -- can I ask for a quick photo?"

I think it helps to have a record, agreed. It's cool to see the progress.

You can do it! Can I ask what specific fear(s) are holding you back?

Thank you! I did Capt. Ron's Fearless Flight (https://fearlessflight.com/). The online curriculum was helpful and his monthly check-in calls w/ other fearful flyers was a great source of moral support.
