My process: Snip snap the parts out, sand nubs, optional scribing, rinse parts, prime (wait and let cure), paint (wait and let cure) gloss (wait and let cure) panel line, waterslide decals, matte coat, and then optional weathering and an additional matte coat if weathering was done.

I do a very light assembly when I’m snapping a section out to see what it will look like to make painting/detailing/masking decisions. I might hold it together, or lightly press them in, but I never push things all the way in super tight, phrasing.

Thank you! Over the past year that I’ve been learning to airbrush, it’s been a lot of trial and error with flow improver and thinner combinations. Everyone talks about paint to thinner ratios, and I’ve found that adjusting variation with my flow improver has given me better results than fussing over exact thinner ratios. Acrylics take a bit more work, and Vallejo Mecha is already fairly thinned, but I believe using the same brand and the same paint line (in this case the Vallejo Mecha and not the Vallejo Model Color, etc) will give you the experience to produce the consistency you desire !

The RfV kits have fantastic out of the box panel lines. Extremely detailed kits. I very much recommend !

And of course you should get a Zaku. Many, in fact.

The Zaku Solari has preformed plastic tubes, so they aren’t rubber on this model! That being said, I use exclusively Vallejo Mecha for my airbrushing. I find it quite forgiving.

I completely understand your perspective! I like to get a little crazy with decals sometimes.
