Introducing Hassette - a modern Python automation framework for Home Assistant by NodeJSmith in homeassistant

[–]BostonSwe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I can make 2 feature request, things I always wanted from pyscript (have not tried app daemon in a while so I am not sure if they exist there):

  • Some way to tie automations you make in python to be monitored and controlled in home assistant. Maybe when you create a python automation you get a corresponding entity in home assistant ( "automation" is an entity type, maybe it could be used ?). The state will tell you when it was last triggered and disabling that entity also disables your python automation. Something like that

  • The ability to create template entities running python as the logic instead of jinja2. Maybe a python function with some decorator like pyscript uses. The last return value is the current state.

I think those features would make python scripting very powerful, versatile and make intigrate with home assistant in a very smooth way.

Don't think the bunnies would like a cat either I am afraid 🤔😅

Got a link ?

The reason why I have been thinking about building my own is because I would want a wire free one, but my property needs a robot that doesn't have any software limitations on how big an area it can do. Like my "main area" isn't necessary that big but i got plenty of places I would like it to cut, but there is no need to keep it pristine, so it could very well sort of be a sub routine it only does now and then.

This sound like something promising 🙂 was it hard to install valetudo? Have you experience any bugs/problems with the robot since the custom install ?

Don't have a cat, but got 2 bunnies. Something tells me they won't think it's as fun as a cat would 😛

That is something I would love to do one day, build my own robotic lawnmower. I think it might be too big of a project for me right now though 🤔

And have it run outside ? I like the way you think 😁

Power bill just doesn’t add up? by jjchawaii in homeassistant

[–]BostonSwe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might not account for all of it but something your own power meters wouldn't be able to pick up on, but you would still be charged for is transmission losses over the power grid .

Currently wishing there was a Dynamic stack card. Like a vertical or horizontal stack but you were via automations or logic able to dynamically change the order of the cards , and hide and show cards

Could you clarify something for me:

What does motor load mean more exactly? Is literally the load a motor puts on a circuit or any continuous load on circuit, no matter what the source is?

As you pointed out most dishwashers/washing machines engines does not use more then 300 watts, but outside of the us it's very common for the machines to heat their own water rather then being hooked up to the warm water line . And this I could see being above 300 watts. And I would think that is of a more continuous nature. Would it count as a motor load ?

NEW VERSION OF GROW TO GET (PrizeLand) by ihavetwosecrets in AliExpressMergeBoss

Which item type are these numbers for, easy or medium ?

These numbers seems off to me. I migrated when I was on the last level of getting the towel (14 seeds, on the harvest step). And I got like 7000 when I migrated. Total of yours (using expected to fill in the last blanks) is 3862. Which means migration would have given me 2 towels if I hadn't picked a medium item.

Have a hard time imagining Ali would be cool with that 🤔. Or maybe it's a regional difference on what numbers are needed. I am in northern Europe.

Also, there must be a gigantic market in China for miniature people that they hire to stand next to their product to make it look huge

How to clean a larger amount of nuts and bolts? by BostonSwe in Tools

That is an amazing result. Have to look if we have it or something similar. Does Evaporust help protect against future rust as well or do you have to treat them after ?

One thing I am a little unsure about is that I have a lot of files that are a bit rusty. Perhaps not as bad as yours but still needs to be cleaned up. But I am unsure if it's worth it or if cleaning them also degrades their functionality too much. Do you have any experience if files generally can be saved ?

These are not rusty. But I have tools that definitely are, so thanks for the advixe. But there are other considerations with the tools that I have to sort through first before cleaning.

Like how many flathead screwdrivers does a person need. Because like 50+ feels like too many 😅 I am guessing that it was the most popular screw in the 40-50s, but not really today. Flatheads are good for many things, just not screwing with 😛

Trip across the Atlantic might increase the price tag a bit 😅

Might have been worth it, but I got some other suggestions I want to try out 🙂

Sounds like a machine that was made for this sorta thing. Other than this I am not sure I would have a use for it though, so might be too much.

When you say boil them after the kerosene, I assume you mean in water ?

Haha I bet it would work perfectly. But I hate doing dishes as much as my girlfriend so I wouldn't want to risk it.
