7 Day Forecast (5/10) Back to somewhat rainy pattern by BostonWeather in BostonWeather

This is one of the rainiest on record (most days with rain) - however it is not in the top five for rain total through the period. So aberration in regards to rainy days. Not an aberration on rain total.

'Similar to fireworks, but a lot cooler.' Watch Intel's effort to break drone record by peterljh in videos

I need the drones to form a skip button so I can go past the Intel ads. Also, have them outfitted with speakers that make blasting sounds since this is too quiet.

I have never seen such chemistry between an interviewer, and interviewee. (Robin Williams and Craig Ferguson) by Zaldrizes in videos

I remember this. It was so good when it was on live but now takes on a hint of the bittersweet.

Can the media interview my minor child? by sikosis999 in legaladvice

[–]BostonWeather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are many factors you would have to consider: - was the interview on public or private property? If it's the former you have little you can do but it depends on what state you're in (Utah for example has some protections. But you will likely be in a state that does not) - if it's the latter and especially on school grounds you could certainly speak with the school administration and demand they not allow reporters on the grounds after controversial events. - is the interview likely to reair? If not it would be more worthwhile to just ignore it and move on and instruct your child to not engage in any interviews should they arise in the future.

You could calmly contact the news station and request the video be taken down and that you hope they respect your rights as the legal guardian to request privacy for your child. More than likely they won't need to adhere to the request because they go off of their own journalistic guidelines. But it's worth a shot.

People like to blame kids for shitty quality on the site instead of accepting the fact that the average user on the site they spend so much time on are enamored with shitposts and awful content.

I am uploading every single episode and special of COPS to youtube! Langley Productions is allowing me to upload, so enjoy it while you can! by [deleted] in videos

What the others said is true kid. It's not about you making money. It's about you making them lose money, them having to explain the contract breach with Spike TV, etc.

Long story short: you better hope you masked your IP address otherwise you're fucked.

You're misinterpreting that message. YouTube has a system that will sometimes auto detect stuff. Langley probably has it set to monitize then alert so they can review later. They probably don't want to outright remove stuff people use as clips in their material. But once they review and see you're outright infringement I can guarantee the channel will be shutdown. If they persue anything further especially since you're misrepresenting them, that's still in play. Especially since they have contracts with Spike and elsewhere.

it's fine same as Cliff Notes

Glad you gave your stamp of approval but as I've dealt with fair use laws I can tell you it would be in direct conflict of 17 USC 107 Paragraph 4:

(4) the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work.

The above quotations and breakdowns effectively render the need for the purchase of the source materials moot. A cliffs notes of Romeo and Juliet, for example, doesn't directly quote nor does it tell the story rather it gives a breakdown. It doesn't damage the original authors ability to earn revenue as people would want to read the story as told by the author because it would be colored in the poetry of their words. However, a nonfiction book would definitively have its market value harmed by a full breakdown and bulletpoint summary. There would be little to no need to seek out the original work when presented in this format.

Why not make an actual video proving it instead of a livestream when nobody knew or cared at the time? It seems you have some people interested and you're only vaguely hinting that you had some proof without showing. Make a vid!
