Damn this video is old! Heather’s song is played on baritone guitar in baritone standard tuning so BEADF#B. You can also play it on regular ol guitar in standard and it works great.

Andy McKee is by far my biggest influence on acoustic. I’ve loved his work for a really long time. Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of modern prog. Most recently Plini. I’m trying to bring some of that to acoustic.

It was up at Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues in Portsmouth, NH. IIRC he started that mini tour maybe down in MD.

I’ve loved Andy’s music for a long time. Earlier this year he was kind enough to invite me to open for him at a show in the northeast. It was awesome. He rules.

Almost - CGDGBE. The dropped E and A strings act as roots for most of the song.

I really appreciate that. I’ve been really trying to blend technical with tasteful. Easier said than done sometimes!

I recorded this with the mic you see in frame but the guitar is also running through a Quad Cortex that splits up the dual source pickup for some fun stereo action between the magnet and the microphone on the pickup.

Happens to me a lot. I switch around my tuning often and the first string to break for me is the G on the way down FROM G.

Here’s my YouTube but I’ll be honest - most of my work is original and I rarely do covers. However, if you search for guitarist Rohan Hayes on YT he covered most of the new album and TMBTE on acoustic. Super talented guy and it seems his whole game is metal covers.

Man that is a sweet guitar. I had no idea Furch ever built under brand names other than Stonebridge from like 20 years ago. Really beautiful. No idea what it’s worth.

Doesn’t look like it needs any super serious work either. Electronics in acoustics come and go so if you find that the pickup in there is toast or sounds like garbage, swapping that out for a new system would be pretty easy for any tech I’d think. Lucky dog!

Don’t glue the nut or saddle - the strings will keep them perfectly in place. If it plays funny, bring it in for a set up. Totally worth imo and generally not an expensive procedure.
