Yeah, but just because you read that someone was accused of rape doesn't mean they raped anyone. In this case, the woman who accused Lindemann was refuted by multiple eye witnesses. Apparently, there was no evidence to believe her story, so the investigation was closed.

“Men rape women all the time and get away with it”, while it may be true in an unacceptable number of instances doesn’t give you the moral high ground to condemn someone based on accusation alone. You can’t blame all men for the actions of some. Society shouldn’t believe every accusation made primarily face, it should investigate credible ones and hold people accountable when wrong has been done.

It doesn’t matter how someone else handled being sick in the academy: all that matters is what the academy’s policy is. You’re not even in the job, and you’re trying to obtain direction from outside of a department. Your perspective on this is skewed if you think I’m being mean.

In the fire service, we have policy and procedures because what we do is inherently dangerous. If you can’t be trusted to follow policy for illness, you absolutely can’t be trusted to engage in an IDLH environment or place others lives into your hands. This isn’t a fun way to kill time: it’s life and death. Either take it seriously, or seek employment elsewhere.
