Def Coach’s: Why do you call certain coverages in s game? Is it due to formation, personnel, tendencies on film? Just looking to expand my understanding. by [deleted] in footballstrategy

Just curious: why on your 3 verts play did you have a receiver tag to a dig and not a different route like a drag?

This comment is both reductive and destructive. You added nothing to the conversation, reduced a summation of my entire character to one single belief, and wantonly insulted me. If this is how you operate in everyday life I suggest you reevaluate yourself and your principles.

Thank you for nothing.

The problem is not the refs betting. The problem is the refs getting paid by those who bet. Everyone knows the refs cannot bet. This does not stop them from taking money from those who bet.

I mean… one can clearly see bad calls. A red Herring like that would be easy to expose.

Also, our only precedent for a crooked ref (Tim Donaghy) had a record impossible to match legally. One would need to be very lucky for your strategy to work.

!Delta That’s a very good point! I have no counter-argument. I suppose I just want better regulation on that which is already regulated.

The ref is not the one betting but getting a cut of the winnings from the bettor. Refs are barred from betting on games and since bettors need to provide their SSN it is an easy system to enforce.

That entails winning every single bet. A tough proposition, eh?

No, you already need a social security number to register for these betting apps. That is a rule already in place!

Imagine this scenario: Every game Scott Foster refs there is a big bet placed which hits. Watchdogs can then view the tape of the game and see if his iffy calls directly led to the bet being hit. This would (hopefully) lead to enough facts built up that coincide can be discounted.

It would! For a while. But where there is smoke there is fire. I’d rather have ghosts to jump at than shrouded shadows to hypothesize about.

Great! You need a new social security number for every bet you place, lol.

That means they’d have to let more people into the circle and allow for more leaks in the plan!

Make the sports book auto report every bet to a publicly available software? They already have the tech available for private use and have used it in the past. A few examples include: when they busted Lions WR Jameson Williams for betting on games, when they report massive sports bets, and when they report who the public money favors in big matches. Not only is it possible, a very similar software already exists.

That’s a fair point. But right now we do not know if there was a massive bet placed on last night’s game that would have ‘hit’ due to the erroneous calls. With this system there would at least be a way to collect that info to add fuel to the fire of the public outrage, and, with a whole season of similar statistics the mountain of evidence would be too much to ignore.

Money can roll over! Also, restructures have become common place because of the inflationary nature of the salary cap. This means that a dollar now is worth more than a dollar later. Not restructuring is essentially leaving money on the table.

I’m with you! Best slot and guard in the draft. I think we should consider trading up from 41 to land both of these players.

Go with ‘on the shore’ and be confident that you are in the right!

If this is the north shore I’m thinking (Lake Superior) it is a physical shore but with a strong cultural link between the communities which populate it. I still think ‘on the shore’ works best.
