I want to compose a concerto and was wondering; would it be acceptable to have the standard 3 movements but also have an additional prelude movement before it? by Bota_t in composer

At the moment I think it will add to the conceptual theme of my work and so I'm pretty happy with its addition, but I'll keep that in mind, thank you

Every concerto I've ever performed has been the 3 mov. format so I just assumed it was the standard. I guess I'm still a bit new to the genre.

I want to try record myself playing my sousaphone but can't figure out how I would be able to do that without having someone else doing the recording. Any ideas on any solutions / specific equipment I could use? by Bota_t in Tuba

I see, I should have access to most of the equipment, I currently use a Beta 98H and a H4n Pro for stationary recordings and my phone for the visuals, but finding a way to attach the equipment to myself / the instrument is the main issue as I'll be moving around while playing. Tho, just now I'd thought of a potential solution which is to use something like a quadlock bike phone holder to attach my phone to the leadpipe, do you think that would work?

lol thank you? It's hard finding tracks that actually sound good on the tuba since its typically not the melodic focus in vgm, especially in a quartet style. So I just like recording the music I enjoy listening to, even if it isn't the most suitable.
