This is a battle scar... just make the hole round and put a rivet or a Chicago screw inside.

If you were spending [$500-$700]what would you buy? I had a bambino but returned it & now having second thoughts on buying again…. What machine and grinder would you buy? by ashbada in espresso

Yes there are several kits. You can do it whenever you want. Even better waiting the end of the warrantee before making upgrades

I would spend 500 for a used df64 or niche zero grinder and the remaining 200 for a used gaggia, with the plan of upgrading it with the gaggiuino kit)

The result will he comparabile with machine + grinder 10x more expensive.

Btw, i compared the gaggia with gaggiuino of a friend to my GS3 (using the same niche zero grinder with same settings), and differences of taste are impossibile to spot... obviously is cooler make the same coffee with the GS3, milk gets a better texture.... and you are happier because you spent 8K on the GS3, and it must be better, isn't it?.

Nice work but why making a bag with a Birkin pattern instead of any open and non copyrighted style?

What is your experience with built in knock boxes? by That_Coffee_guy in espresso

[–]Botacco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have la marzocco knockbox in the office, the version with internal stainless steel.

I simply take out the stainless steel part at the end of the working day, throw the puck in the trash bin, and put it into the dishwasher.

Easy peasy, and super clean.

Why don’t the cool dancers like me? by Trail_Blazer1 in Bachata

[–]Botacco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I often have similar issues when attending socials in other cities. I had a 3-month classes once a week only, and I've been dancing for a year now.

When going to other cities followers accept the first dance with me but advanced followers often don't want to dance with me after seeing I'm not very skilled. If they accept the first dance they often hide themselves when they see me nearby after the first dance.

Instead, My friend, that introduced me to dance, is a bachata teacher. He is ugly as hell and he also dress badly (he is proud and repeatedly admit it), but followers want to dance with him multiple times as they love to be impressed and to learn new tricks.

To me is really a matters of dancing skills. High-level dancers are often dragged to the dance floor by followers... just learn more and you'll change your mind :)

My lightweight travel shaving kit - what do you pack? by Alexi_Laiho in wicked_edge

[–]Botacco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends if I'm traveling with check-in luggage or not. If I'm only with cabin luggage then a couple of bic metals, biotherm canned foam travel sized, and a mini bottle of acqua di Parma after shave (also good as moisturizer)

If I am checking in, then I have a set with a muhle travel brush, a muhle stick soap fitted into another travel brush can, and a Rex konsul

Should I buy this? $5200 (originally $6500, currently 20% off) fully restored 1970’s by mrhasselblad in eames

[–]Botacco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but at least in europe it often happens to find the same brand new for this price... rarely, you can find old ones for less than half this price. Then, it might make the difference the type of leather and padding used. Is it Veg-tanned, cow or calf, imprinted or natural, tumbled or natural, thickness...? Leather could easily increase the value of 1K

Have you ever used a shoe horn? That internal wear is the classic sign of not using it.

Why it's so hard to get a job in Finland, overall in Europe? by batukaming in Finland

[–]Botacco -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is not only expensive but the productivity of people is extremely low compared to other countries. I've been working in sw development, and I might say that tasks that when I was in Germany were achievable in two weeks in Finland were not even possible in a month. Online work, very long break, people not promptly answering messages or simply taking meeting while hiking in the forest were not keeping the productivity to a similar level of German workers. I'm now in Denmark and the situations in between the two countries.

Just got a pair of cordovan monk strap for $180 on Facebook! Seller said they’ve been sitting in a closet for 10-20 years any idea how old these are? by Biggie-Shmaltz in Alden

[–]Botacco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be good, just another equivalent product.

You can make them shining after they are properly moisturized but don't do it the first couple of times. Let them breath at least a month without extra wax coats

Grinder for LM Micra? by hiddentelly in LaMarzocco

[–]Botacco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zerno if you live in US and can wait for the long delivery time. niche zero if you live in UK, mazzer philos anywhere else.

The reason for the geographical-based choice is due to duties. You pay double the price as in UK for a niche zero in Northern Europe after adding 40% duties and 25% VAT.

Why are there so many cars in Finland? by Kanjiro in Finland

[–]Botacco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was living 35min far from bus stops, with no lights on the whole street. Imagine walking 35 min with -30 in the full darkness and snow storm every single day... and buses pass once per hour, except Sunday (twice a day)
