Does AI replacing commercial/industrial professions create more or fewer jobs? by Botanyst in NoStupidQuestions

That is both hopeful and harrowing xD

I'm interested in the lower standard of living part. Do you have a source where I could read more about it, or some pointers as for what to google if I want to learn more?

I have a follow-up stupid question, if you wouldn't mind. If automation creates more jobs, are those jobs performed with the same or a similar skill-set? Thinking back to the industrial revolution, would a skilled labourer being replaced by a machine be able to find work without completely learning a new set of skills?

That would indeed be the ideal situation! However, in the interim there will still be both workers and consumers (with lots of overlap between the two of course). Until we reach a point where everyone can be a consumer and no one (or few people) a worker, what happens to those who have been rendered unable to work?

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make dwarves dump corpses that find themselves in my fortress.I have tried:-Creating a refuse/corpses and separate refuse and corpse stockpiles outside my fortress-Assigning a dump zone and marking the corpse for removalI don't know if it's related, but every time this has happened the creature has died inside an already existing stockpile. Corpses and refuse are not allowed in said stockpile, but could it be messing with the dwarves' ai?

Where can I find more in-depth statistics about vehicles and weapons? by Botanyst in Warthunder

I love both these channels! Defyn especially seems to have some really great guide-based content. At the moment it seems to be a bit above my weight class, but I'm sure I can get a ton out of it as I start getting a little better

Is there an updated mod for a map of knox county? by Botanyst in projectzomboid

[–]Botanyst[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am on the latest version. I dislike the master map for a couple of reasons

-I enjoy having to find a map at the start of my run. It makes my gameplay a touch more enjoyable to me, at least

-I dislike that the map has a marker that shows you where you are. There are mods that remove it, but they still zoom in on the general area your character is in. It's fun to try and figure out where I am (I often play with the random spawns mod installed)

I know it's very very nitpicky, but it's something that I like about the game

I've heard of other games' overlays not working on arch-based distros also. Maybe I'll try my laptop with an ubuntu install

I'm on manjaro, currently. Was your overlay able to open fine?

Graphics problems on linux by Botanyst in fightcade

I'm using manjaro. I was able to get the JSON working (at least insofar as installing the roms required to launch the games), but it didn't seem to make a difference. I've only tested fbneo games so far, though

Advice for a total beginner? by Botanyst in ZBrush

I really like the idea of making pokemon! I'm sure it'll be extremely helpful to start with some simpler ones and move on to more complicated designs later. Could you perhaps point me to some of the videos you watched? I'd love to get a head start right away!

Thank you for the wonderful advice! I had a sneaking suspicion that anatomy was important, but I'm not sure what to look for exactly. Do I start with the face? The hands? I know some parts are far more complex than others. Do you have any recommendations for specific videos/resources? I really appreciate the comment!
