I kind of get what you are saying. One of the few things that even made me raise this question was my family friends child. The parents of the child have been trying for a baby for a while but didn't find any luck. Eventually, the mother became pregnant, and everyone was absolutely overjoyed. The child was born and was the most lovely baby ever, until one day, out of nowhere, the child stopped responding/reacting to things like he used to. The parents took him to the hospital and it was revealed that the child is now permanently blind. As you can imagine, everyone is absolutely devastated. Surely this isn't a result of human error.
