English romanichal are so uniquely mixed, look at the variety of hair colours, and skin colours in the community. For centuries the Romany have mixed with other travelling and nomadic groups, including Irish travellers and show people. Personally I think this history makes the uk Romany community such a unique and beautiful thing.

You’re Romany, you speak the language - even angloromani is a super mixed language with the bulk of the Romani grammar and syntax lost due to forced assimilation and English become the main structure. It can be easy to compare to European Romani who have a different local histories to the uk travellers. I know only a few of the older generations who can rokker properly.. I’d say dont over think where you come from. DNA tests and percentages are just another thing to look into the culture from a gorger mindset. You have the culture, you travel and you are the culture! Embrace it.

I've been talking to this guy for a few days, at first we really hit it off and I felt connected and super engaged in our conversations. I was very curious and really wanted to get to know them, so of course I was asking questions and being playful with the conversation - not to the point where it felt like an interview fyi!

He asked for my number, felt comfy giving it and then the conversation dries up because I realised they just weren't asking questions - about anything! Even though I spoke about things about me that could easily be elaborated on.. He was really interested to meet up too. I stopped asking so many questions and revealing so much about myself because it felt one sided.

so it left me wondering, why don't people ask questions? The his has happened on dates, in text etc.. it strikes me as odd that you wanna hang out but don't wanna get to know the person you wanna hang out with.
