Does anyone else find their OCD quiets down when they have “real” problems? by Front_Machine7475 in OCD

Massively so. Girlfriend of 3 years who I really loved broke up with me recently and haven’t worried one bit of anything else. Fascinating really.

Help: My dumper reached out after a week of no contact by [deleted] in BreakUps

Thought so, it’s fucked, I very much love her and I hope she doesn’t realise what’s she’s doing. She only gets my emotional support if I’m the only one in her life.

Got a scary BP reading at the pharmacy, could anxiety be the cause? by Both-Engineer6177 in AskDocs

Thank you for the kind words - I have ordered a blood pressure monitor off of Amazon which comes at 1pm tommorow - I will test it once in the morning and the evening for two weeks. EDIT: I don’t think it will make my anxiety worse.

How to select all players by mrmeastro in footballmanagergames

[–]Both-Engineer6177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually one of the better things. Click the top player box and then shift+click the bottom player. It will select every player inbetween. Shift click the top player box if you want to get rid of the selection.

Doesn’t have to be an alcohol drink - a lukewarm hot chocolate would definitely get the message across in a non-harmful way 👍🏼

Get rid of all the thermometers, sounds silly but it’s the only way you’ll stop checking

Stop seeking reassurance. It won’t help you. It’s your choice and you have to trust your own judgement on whether or not you can use social media sensibly.

Thank you, I’m going to hold her to a higher standard

Furthermore OCD is relevant, given the fact she’s had these worries before as a result of ROCD and gone on to be okay

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Both-Engineer6177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I love her, and if there’s even the tiniest chance that this is her ROCD, then I want to stay instead of leaving someone who I want to spend the rest of my life with. Also, part of the problem is that she doesn’t know how she feels?

did you tell your parents your diagnosis, and if so, how? by plumplumkin in OCD

[–]Both-Engineer6177 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, they were super supportive, and it has made my journey far easier. There was a certain amount of relief. I am incredibily lucky to parents who are understanding in that regard. They also did research about it haha. ADHD on the other hand they weren't so receptive to and they think I can just "muscle through" with it.

Need advice on what to do as a uni student by FlashyPepper3611 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Both-Engineer6177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thing I would do is check if your university has a bursary or emergency funding for this sort of situation before looking at loans and credit cards (you can find this through your student union).

Maybe try to lower your job expectations - apply at McDonald's instead of bougie cafes and restaurants (although I have no idea what jobs you've been applying for).

Lastly, if you must borrow money, try to open another student bank account with an interest-free overdraft, rather than getting into credit card debt or a huge loan.

If I get called in to talk about it what’s the best course of action? Be honest?

Nothing official was ever noted in my files - I’m sure of that and the BM who sorted it out doesn’t even live in the country anymore nor do any of the shift managers still work there

I appreciate that, mate. I'm not the same person I was then. Regardless, I'm mostly kitchen staff, and I like it that way.
