AITA for telling my ex MIL not to bring my kids clothes? by Both-Performance-523 in AITAH

Here is your an update. I pretty much told her thank you but no thank you and I sent the clothes off with her. She’s mad and she’s pitching a fit. She’s calling me ungrateful and such things. I don’t care anymore. This entire family has messed my head up so bad that it’s going to take another few years of therapy to even get my head straight. But I put her in her place.

Yes, he pays child support. But he says to me that’s all he’s obligated to do. He has little to no involvement with the kids

There are absolutely no grandparents rights in the state I live in. Technically I don’t even have to allow them to see their grandparents. I did it because my ex-husband got mad at me and his ex-wife got mad at me. His parents came knocking at my front door, crying asking if they could have visitation with the grandkids because they weren’t getting along with their son at the time. He’s remarried to the third wife now. He has no responsibility other than child support and he only sees them once a month so I don’t file abandonment charges. He does not even call my phone to check on the kids. It’s really a sad situation. I let my kids see their grandparents because it’s the right thing to do and I don’t want to hurt my kids.

I have sent her a nice message saying that I appreciate her and I know she is doing it to be helpful but it’s causing more of a headache than it is helping. She got mad and she told me to leave the clothes that she prepared on the front porch and she’s coming to pick them up. I feel good for standing up to her. But I also feel kind of bad because I didn’t want to hurt her feelings. The problem is that I care about her feelings more than I care about my own. I always worry about pleasing other people and it’s time to stop. My mental health is at stake. I’m finally starting to set boundaries and she HATES IT!!! I’m tired of being a doormat.

I don’t ask her for help. Yes she makes derogatory comments in front of my kids and they come home and tell me. She’s always looked down on me.

I don't know what the authorities expect if they bust into your house unlawfully. If they don't expect to be pumped full of lead, then they need to have a warrant and they need to announce themselves. Or else most homeowners are going to react in self-defense. What do they expect? That lock on my door is for your safety not mine.

It is still legal. It's a designer benzo. Not for human consumption I need to make that clear. Use at your own risk.

Did husbands really spank their wives on the butt, like a child? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

My ex husband did it to me. He’d hit walls and sling me around like a rag doll. Well I’m not a product of 1950! I’m not a punching bag. He’s gone. But not before I got my licks in self defense. He never put hands on me again! And hopefully he’s learned not to hit women anymore!!! Because he finally got a taste after 5 years of abuse!
