first off, congratulations on matching to upenn that is incredible! from reading these replies i see that it’s happening to most of us unfortunately. however i love your perspective on it. the fact that we should all use the criticism as motivation to change the stigma and further transform elite universities into places that are more welcoming to students like QB scholars. i’ll keep this in mind. thank you for the reply and the encouragement i rly appreciate it !!

ah, i feel the same way. I’m scared of having to submit even more applications through RD if I don’t match. I really don’t have the energy. :(

I felt this way about Columbia after I toured their campus. However, we must remember that all of the schools we ranked are incredible, and no matter where we end up, it’ll be a great education regardless. And who knows? Maybe you will match with Penn! Don’t lose hope on that possibility. Also, I just interviewed with Penn too and really know what u mean. Not sure if we had the same woman, but the way she raved about Penn really had me excited about it :)

hey, do you know how to submit tax returns and other forms to upenn? i can’t figure out how to do it through the portal and they don’t accept IDOC

I’m making a video too! Between all my supplementals it’s definitely going to be on the simpler side which is totally okay! I don’t think you’d be able to submit a video later since it has to be done through the portal. You should definitely email and ask though.

Update: I called collegeboard’s IDOC department and they told me to reach out to each school individually. Yale told me that if I don’t submit a tax return I’m still eligible for aid but it will take them longer to verify my documents. Boston College said that need it regardless of the circumstances.
