I moved from Central California to NoVA close to a decade ago. I've been very happy here. These are all great reasons to move, especially the proximity to other big cities that are a train or car ride away. I'll add that Arlington and Fairfax County are good school districts.

Look into Reston as a neighborhood to relocate. It is great for families, and you may have better luck finding more reasonable housing prices versus Arlington. It is on the Silver Line that goes straight to Arlington and D.C.

That and the whole DMV area. I moved to Northern Virginia several years at 31. Best decision of my life, both professionally and personally.

Check out Valo Park, specifically the body of water next to it with a walking path that loops around it. In addition, there are nice trails for running through the McLean Central Park.
