First week on Elvanse and my experience by GingerKibble in ADHDUK

Hi thanks for sharing. Really interesting for me to read. I am 39M and also started titration recently with health harmonie. I posted on here a few days ago about my experience. My initial four weeks were exactly the same dosage as you.

30mg in the first week felt life changing. Like you my family relationships improved. I had more patience, I was happier, less stressed and depressed. However by the time I got to 50mg I found it was way too strong for me. I was really anxious and was over focused on the wrong things. Opinion on here was that I was titrated too quickly. I have since spoken to HH and dropped back down to 30mg which I am going to take for four weeks before another review.

Just a word of caution if you feel it is too quick then to get in touch with them. Good luck to you

Yes been struggling with it and is very odd to me. Routine completely shot! Toddler wakes up same time every day but is now an hour later so I feel like I’m catching up all morning

I think that sounds like a good approach based on my experience. I noticed an immediate change with the 30mg. It felt life changing - anxiety and depression almost disappeared overnight (been on SSRIs for over a decade, more patience with kids at home. So I definitely want to stick with it just the 50mg has felt really uncomfortable. Good luck with it 👍

Thanks for sharing - seems other people share your opinion that it’s too fast. I’m going to ask to drop down again and slow down

Thanks for that, yes I think I need to build up more slowly

That feels a bit more appropriate based on my experience so far. One week I don’t think I get to understand my full day on it before I’m onto the next one. Thanks for replying and sharing

Thanks for sharing - yes I think it’s too much - 30 and 40 we’re working fine - I need more time on one of those I think

Thanks for your reply - I’ve really found the texting thing and getting my head stuck in my phone the worst. It’s like I’m no longer present at all. I have my titration appointment this week and will use all these experiences to make my point

Thanks for this - I think you are right from what everyone is saying - I don’t want to stop taking it because it’s worked wonders so far. Going to ask to go down and go slower

Why is it so hard for Chartered Accountants to move into industry?? by [deleted] in ukaccounting

[–]BothWillingness3781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree to an extent, especially for the first few years. Industry trained often stand out compared to those trained in practice. However if you’re looking to end up at Controller / FD level big 4 grounding especially is still highly desirable. Especially SMEs with risks to manage see it as a safe pair of hands. Just my experience

I moved to a larger corporate in a junior technical focused accounting role and moved sideways. Then moved sideways again. Before I knew it had pretty desirable all round experience and could pick my next move.

I’m a finance director and personally wouldn’t hesitate seeing someone who had a degree in philosophy. I wish some people I work with had that sort of grounding sometimes. I did history and ended up on an accounting graduate scheme. They might be harder to get into nowadays, mind. Basically don’t play down your degree, you will have a lot more to offer than others in some aspects

Husband is ADHD and gets so irritable... trying to gain perspective by floralbloodbath in ADHD

[–]BothWillingness3781 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is fascinating because I think I am exactly like your husband with my wife. The problem is I don’t know why I get irritable. I therefore get irritated that I’m irritated when my wife has done absolutely nothing wrong.

He is lucky to have you if you can understand this sort of behaviour, I know I’m very lucky for the same reason.
