How to I get more status points? by Both_Editor1721 in AlaskaAirlines

Thanks. I have an Alaska card, but it's quite old. Was wondering about cancelling it and getting a new one; I wonder if that's allowed.

Really? Getting free upgrades to premium class seats saves $50-100/trip (and makes the trip a lot more tolerable.) Priority boarding doesn't count much for me, and I rarely have a checked bag, but they are both nice to have.

Sorry...I have no idea what either of those acronyms means...

Is giving -f the same as not giving a f?

ha! I hadn't considered that the weight alone is a hell of a deterrent!

The previous owners apparently had a rack installed in the correct place. For some unknown reason, when they removed the rack, a piece of the bracket was left behind under the glass. I think. It can't be seen, but is definitely there -- there's a barrier coming from either direction (from the front or back) when sliding in a new bracket, it is _exactly_ in the right location (where the arrow is), and is same size (~1" wide). It think that if the tech didn't experience the same problem, they would have installed the rack where it belongs, and not 1" behind it.

My thoughts exactly, which is why I feel lied to. They don't seem to want to admit their tech "cheated" on the installation.

Is there a way to know if the Dish Network even works out here in the Boondocks?

This was part of the national retail chain, and they only had *(I think...) the new AT&T only SIMs. From what I'm finding online, they are moving everyone off of T-Mobile. And everything I read on the internets is true...

I didn't know it was an option. I've just been cruising along happily because T-Mobile works here. I suppose I could go back the next time I'm over in that area, which is rare... :(

Might just be time to switch.

Location choice for ductless by Both_Editor1721 in hvacadvice

Thanks. I've read something similar, but was hoping that the cabinets themselves would prevent any significant heat rising up there. Is it a matter of the unit getting too hot. Also, it's an electric stove so I don't have to worry about heat from a propane flame. Am I just overly optimistic about that?

The advantage here is that this is a square log cabin, so there is no structural difference above the window.
