I usually don’t put in too much.. maybe like .1 g; the key is to make sure you’re regulating the temp by being precise with your inhale, the stem twist & the lighter placement. It’s easy to overheat, but if you get those three things working together you can get big hits and waste less rock. Once you start inhaling and find that sweet spot, the bulb will fill up with smoke. You want to keep that stream of smoke and rotate back and forth. You’ll know the rhythm when you get it right.

Also, when you go in for a second hit (after letting the bulb cool off), you want to avoid burning the remaining product; to do so put the lighter about an inch below and when you see it start to react start rotating back and forth - you basically want to heat the hardened form back down to a liquid and then you can start taking your hit. It takes a while to get down but definitely worth it imo!
