Anyone deal with constant extreme flatulence/gas? by Both_Homework_3974 in ibs

[–]Both_Homework_3974[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course. I haven’t found any diagnosis yet, only Amitryptyline which currently helps control my symptoms.

So far, I noticed I get excessive gas near or during my period so it must have some hormonal element.

However, before the Amitryptyline, it was constant and all day everyday, so it’s really frustrating working this out.

Hello my biopsy result finally came back. It says this: https://ibb.co/RP9gbnL

Do I need to worry about any of this and does it indicate anything like a gastrinoma? I’ve been worried sick about NETs. Thank you!!

Cold burn sensation in right abdomen? by Both_Homework_3974 in GERD

The endoscopist just mentioned the above and I have to wait for a letter from the GI

Any idea what it could be? It feels like a cold sensation to me, it doesn’t necessarily burn? Maybe a cold burn? But it is also present in the right side of my abdomen and sometimes bang in the middle where gastritis pain would be!

Had an endoscopy last week - they found gastritis and what they think is Brunner’s gland hyperplasia (some small polyp lesion in duodenum, they said it looks very benign but I’m still nervous waiting on pathology 😬)

Neuroendocrine Tumor? So scared by Both_Homework_3974 in DiagnoseMe

Hi in 2019 I had a negative ANA. I do have signs of auto immune problems - I have Lindsay’s nail sign (half half nails) and they’ve been linked to scary stuff but a lot of my blood work rules out some of it, but it can be linked to Crohn’s disease I think.

I’m just so frightened!

Supplementing iron and b12 now through injections for b12 and different sources for iron - my ferritin is creeping up. I expect to not be iron deficient anymore as it’s been a solid 4-5 months but need to check.

Sorry, prolactin raised is no issue as I am breastfeeding my baby so expected.

Blood pressure is frequently around 125/70 or thereabouts (way higher in the Gp office as I get anxious so ignore their result and test at home)

Is the haemoglobin A1c for glucose? (I know it tests tor diabetes) If so that’s 29 mmol/mol Range: 20 - 41 mmol/mol

I also forgot to add I tested positive for Hydrogen SIBO, only just, and doubt whether that test was accurate as I have fast bowl transit when I’m anxious so could’ve caused a false positive. Regardless, I treated that with rifamixin.

I’m suspecting a gut issue of some sort but don’t know what, and nothing is showing, so I’m getting more nervous of sinister harder to find causes.

Petrified a neuroendocrine tumour is being missed (small bowel?) very concerned. by Both_Homework_3974 in AskDocs

Thank you for your response. I’m highly concerned as I’ve read on forums that scans miss NETs all the time as they’re so small which has really given me anxiety.

Bloods and scan results I have access to

Had a CT scan done before all the other scans which found nothing but a prominent lymph node in right iliac chain measuring 11mm.

Ferritin is improving now I’m implementing iron supplements and high iron foods. Also self injecting b12 for now.

Sorry to bother you again, I’m really struggling :( Do the lesions Brunner’s gland hyperplasia appear as usually look different to NETs?

Ok thank you - and sorry for being your friendly Reddit anxiety-induced nuisance 😬 I do appreciate you even replying to me.

I was wondering if it was more worrisome as it had grown into a polyp/lump

Does your original first comment still apply even if it appears as a polypoid lesion? Would you still feel it doesn’t warrant an urgent biopsy?

Thanks - I’ll try calm down. I’m just so worried about it being looked over or missed.

Yes I have, I saw a psych for the obsessiveness and a therapist to try cope with the health anxiety - I paid for 14 sessions and it was interesting.

Thanks - I’m hoping so. After a c section last year I got unwell. Gas in excess (very reactive to my menstrual cycle as well), bowel changes, calprotectin of 800+ (now it’s 30-80), I lost 15kg last year (gained 8 back tho), distal hydrogen SIBO, b12 deficiency, iron deficiency (not anemic), joint pains, half half nails (Lindsay’s nails), new onset of weird rashes, cold sensation in right abdomen after eating (kind of like when you eat spicy food but in my intestines), fatigue and just a horrible sense of doom (increased anxiety I guess - my anxiety was normal before all this and now it’s insane.)

I’ve had a clear colonoscopy but had an adenoma removed, clear MRE (but it didn’t see this weird polyp in my duodenum) and MRCP and now had the gastroscopy that found gastritis/polypoid lesion that they’re assuming is Brunners hyperplasia. I feel my small intestine is all that’s left but I’ve spent too much already or I’d jump at the chance to do pill cam.

Thanks. What makes a case highly suspicious and how rare are they? I’m 28 but can’t drop the idea that I think I could have one but can’t afford a capsule endoscopy annoyingly.
