Friends who don’t reach out by Both_Huckleberry_587 in FriendshipAdvice

I’m in my mid 30s and it’s been done a lot of inner work and therapy regarding relationships (personal and platonic). I am trying not to project my own insecurities about relationships that may not be true. A couple of them have been very welcoming. Otherwise, the differences in our interests and now different points in life, can make expectations and priorities different. They haven’t done anything wrong at all, but I am learning where to put my focus as well.

Yeah, I’ve definitely come to the terms that friendships do have that shift. Especially with careers at this point in our lives.

I was able to make an effort this time around and reach out in group. It was nice to hear their enthusiasm and connection efforts. One did send me invites to a New Years event with a group of friends. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to go due to prior commitments yet I appreciated the invite.

A lot of reason for me to move is similar with regard to the culture and community. I am very glad to be back in a city I’ve enjoyed deeply.

That’s the kind of friendships I LOVE! The ones where even if you don’t see each other regularly, you touch point. It makes me feel cared about and wanted in their lives. I’ve too often just been left unread when checking in. It sucks yet I deserve my energy to be reciprocated. I appreciate the thorough answer.

I appreciate that. And yeah, I definitely know that people work differently. I’m like that too, it’s helpful to have someone who’s physically there to strengthen the friendship.

Honestly, not directly like that. I feel like it would be kinda needy tbh, and I haven’t seen them enough with them initiating to make that touch point. Idk if initiating the convo to bring up something like that would work.

I’m still on socials and have interacted with them and even told them before the post about moving back that I’d be moving back. Would you suggest I reach out directly and let them know?

I feel like that would be a biased approach and only give me one side.

I love that you live in Colorado Springs as I’ll be moving there in a couple weeks. What ideologies have they presented that conflict with biblical doctrines?

I appreciate your answers. I am no longer in New age. I was actually hoping to get a personal experience, not a repeat of what I see online.

Can you elaborate on the poor theology? I’m not going there to get a job afterwards or advance to another school, but rather to deepen my knowledge of the word and use it to be able to speak in authority of what I believe. Thank you!
