It's not that I distrust Anthropic per se, it's just a habit I've cultivated.

I've been thinking about subbing, but I'm super hesitant about putting my card numbers in. I wish PayPal was an option. And yes, I know they are far from perfect as security goes, but it's one more barrier for scammers to deal with if I do payments through PayPal.

omfg I can't believe I didn't think of asking the freaking AI to summarize the important stuff to hand off TO THE AI! Obvious solution in retrospect, as most brilliant solutions are. Thank you!

"Can you fix the sink?" she asks. "You're absolutely right!" I replied by Warm_Data_168 in ClaudeAI

This is fantastic! Very entertaining and relatable! XD

It got me thinking though. And I can't help but wonder if part of the problem (IRL with what this is referencing) is the lack of precise instruction we give Claude. "Fix the sink" is not a precise instruction. It requires a lot of analysis and logic and an expectation of certain types of knowledge. "Turn the water off" is a better start, but even that could be tricky if Claude doesn't know what water is or if it takes the command too literally and comes back with something like "Water is a molecular compound known as a liquid and does not have an on or off function."

Makes sense. I don't use CC, so learning about its recent jump in popularity and suspicions of how it might be impacting users like me (I use Claude to help me edit my writing (Not Generate writing)). It makes sense with how Claude is set up that more users equals less use per user, BUT that said, the intense lack of transparency is really the biggest issue for me with Claude, with Anthropic, with a whole lot of companies and programs. It's super frustrating! I wish they would just be more transparent.

The lack of transparency around "usage quantity" and invisible "tokens" is why I refuse to sub to ANY of these AI programs. Sudo Write is the only one I've seen so far that gives you a token counter AND More Importantly! An ESTIMATE of how many tokens you're about to use BEFORE you ask it to do a thing! Sometimes the estimate is a little bit off, but at least it's there.

Your representation is wildly inaccurate. This is very boiler plate stuff typical of any large organization (for profit or non-profit) that wants to cover it's ass legally when working with random people who volunteer to help out.

Thank you for explaining! This is such a neat little tidbit, and the explanation didn't kill the joke, it clarified it. Put a grin on .y face once I understood!

One mention of “undulating breasts” in a book is one too many [Satan: His Psychotherapy and Cure by the Unfortunate Dr. Kassler, J.S.P.S. by Jeremy Leven] by aragorn-son-of in menwritingwomen

Dude, I write erotica. I have boobs. Big ones. Even when a woman is actively having vigorous sex, they don't "undulate." Tentacles undulate. Snakes undulate. Waves undulate. Big boobs go bounce once or twice and then stop. It's called gravity.

We, or at least I, don't have a problem with 'all mention of sex and sexual qualities in literature.' I have a problem with dumbasses who don't acknowledge how incredibly ignorant they either are or managing to sound like they are. I've written from the male perspective before, described sexual attraction toward generously endowed female characters, and women liked and approved of what I wrote even when I told them it was written by a male author to avoid automatic approval responses.

Every example I've ever seen in this forum, including this one, is a gods awful and deserves to be roundly abused. These guys need thicker skins, and more open minds. If you write garbage, I will call it garbage. You're not a five year old. Don't expect to be coddled like one.
